Not now, but I think the science behind this will improve over the next years. Some day this might be as common as heart transplants.

Yes, absolutely. This was done twice successfully. The first time in LA, then in NYC.

It certainly looks promising, but we really won't know anything until the first human clinical trials begin. Once that happens, we'll know in pretty short order if it's viable. The problem is that it'll probably take at least a decade before insurance companies start paying for this.

This might be a cost savings for Insurance companies, considering alternatives like being on dialysis for life.
