Hello all, I was first diagnosed with heart failure in November 2017, had an ICD fitted 6 months later. Last June I was taken into hospital with sepsis, I went into septic shock twice and almost died twice, they suspected that those nasty little critters were hiding in the ICD. After returning home

ICD Firing
I’ve recently (6 weeks ago) had a icd fitted for VT. I am also in stubborn AF. This was all very sudden. I’m a 46 year old who has been active and fit previously. Last Wednesday I was out for a light run, and the ICD fired as my AF triggered it. I felt absolutely fine so the shock came as quite a, well

Hi all, thanks for reading! I’m in my early 30’s and have recently been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy and I’m having a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (S-ICD) put in soon. I am very sporty and love running (fortunately my specialists have said I can carry on with this but I now

I posted a query on experience of having a Boston Instruments I/V cardioverter defibrillator fitted as I was getting bumps and beats since the implant three weeks ago. I gave feedback following contact with the hospital who advised me no issues and I needed to let it settle down.Today I took a call

travelling with an ICD
I haven’t flown since my ICD was implanted. Do security need any particular proof? I have my card with the device details but wondered if I need a letter from the hospital. I’m flying to Italy from Gatwick.

AF forever?
I have been told I am in permanent AF! I am due to have an ICD fitted end of April, which will take care of any irregular concerning heartbeats...but am I gonna be in AF forever, and be restricted on what I can and can't do? The prospect of being severely restricted for the rest of my life, is not

Sleeping with an ICD device
I would be hugely grateful for any advice. My partner has been offered an ICD device but is uncertain whether to go ahead, he is worried about a few things related to the device, but impact on sleeping with the device is one of them. If you have an implanted device how have you found sleeping since

Sotolol V Nebivolol
My partner was put on bisoporolol in October last year, this was done because he passed out at work in August, following investigation it was discovered that he had an irregular/ extra heart beat. One week on he collapsed after getting out of bed first thing in the morning, this happened again a week

Recent Diagnosis - What are my options?
Hi, I have recently received a diagnosis of "suspected endometriosis" by my GP and am in the process of figuring everything out. I'm currently 31 and had been on the combined pill since I was 18. I got fed up with how the pills made me feel so I decided to go hormone free and got the copper coil

Newbie - Constant bradycardia afib/arrhythmia symptoms?
Hi! I'm curious if anyone has/had constant 24/7 bradycardia afib/arrhythmia? What symptoms did you experience? Short background, husband had an ICD implanted 6 of Feb and it has caused/triggered constant afib (reading medical research I now understand these procedures are known to in cases be pro-arrhythmic
