3RD COVID VACCINE SHOT TO BE APPROVED WITHIN DAYS
My post on getting a third shot on my own, without approval from the government, has had very wide readership on this site. It should be so, because it is perhaps one of the bigger concerns we all should have right now. Now the good news is that the government here in the US is about to approve a third

Decompensated cirrhosis and kidney failure
Mom (age 72) was diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis with refractory ascites and HE. Soon after creatinine jumped to 7 and her kidney failed. Afterwards, she was on CAPD + rosavel, rifagut & weekly albumin. Also salt intake. Survived 28 months and left us due to heart attack and infection. Doctor

THIRD SHOT BEING RECOMMENDED BY CDC FOR IMMUNOCOMPROMISED
As a follow up to my post last week about getting a third shot, news stories caught my eye yesterday that I thought I'd pass on. As a precursor to some who missed my first post, I took it on my own to get a third shot without authorization. Now it appears that the government in the US is likely to

Pimples on face
Hello. I got my kidney transplant a month ago. There are lots of pimples coming on my face after transplant. I think it because of heavy doses of post transplant medicines. Kindly suggest me the solution for this. Thank you

Hi everyone, just found this site through the NHS app. Had cancer twice, had chemo plus stem cell transplant. I've been left with knee problems due to Lymphoma and have to use a stroller and wheelchair. The treatment I've had has led to a deep depression and anxiety as I no longer have my independence

Quality of life on immunosuppressants
The side effects of the immunosuppressants have significantly decreased my quality of life. I felt better in kidney failure before dialysis started than I do now at five months post kidney transplant. I am 49, and I have a healthy diet and I have been pushing myself to get 30-40 minutes of cardiovascular

New study yields insights into chronic rejection after lung transplantation
A study of lung tissue from patients with end-stage bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS) as a complication of lung transplantation yielded molecular and morphologic insights into the development of chronic rejection. These insights may help develop therapies to optimize long-term outcomes for lung

Kidney issues post liver transplant
Hi I'm 1 year post liver transplant, but my kidneys seem to be taking a hit. My GFR is reducing at each blood test. It is now 39 and drops by about 5 every time. They've not said if it's now CKD but I'm worried as the internet says 39 is stage 3B. They have reduced my tacrolimus to 1mg twice daily,

Tocilizumab and coming off prednisolone
Just looking for current advice as regards the usage of tocilizumab as an aid to getting down and off prednisolone. I met a helpful person on this site and he had been on prednisolone for many years - more than my 12 years. He told me his endocrinologist had put him on tocilizumab and he had managed

'Healthy' supplements are causing a rise in liver injuries - what to avoid
(I have taken this information from a Daily Express article – This is for information only) ACCORDING to new research, cases of severe liver injury linked to products claiming to promote muscle growth or weight loss are rising, with some severe cases leading to patients requiring liver transplants.
