Latest Iron Panel Results - advice
Dear all, I’d be really grateful if anyone who knows about this could advise on my
iron
panel tests above? Good news is my ferritin has gone up from 65 through 85 to 105 and still taking it (not that it’s made any difference so far!). Thank you so much. X

How to persuade TSH-obsessed Endo I'm not over-replaced (on T3-only)?
I supplement with
iron
, B12 , vitamin D and selenium. My BP is low, my resting heart rate is low 60 bpm. I did struggle with a 19kg weight gain because of insulin resistance, but ditching the gluten and refined carbs solved that and I'm now a healthy weight.

Iron Infusion Attempt
This week I saw Dr Robin Fackrell privately at Bath Sulis Hospital to discuss whether an
iron
infusion would be an appropriate way forward for me and if so how I could progress this.

Confirming blood tests needed to diagnose hyperthyroid (asking for my sister-in-law)
She's not on any Thyroid meds, but I will advise that she should stop any multi-vitamins a week before and any other vit/supp she might take that include B complex, biotin, or
iron
. Anything you'd change, or anything different if it's hyper we suspect vs hypo? Thanks as always!

Is it worth having a private iron panel done when the NHS results can be so different?
There is no way I could rely on the private tests to make a case for help with
iron
from GP.

RLS vs PLMD
I was hopeful that brain
iron
was my problem and had the tests done that are recommended in the Mayo Clinic document, but my results were all well in the normal range, with ferritin actually high at 336ng/ml.

Unsure about increasing T3
I take vit D, B complex, magnesium, selenium,
iron
, multivitamin, vitamin c, symprove for gut health, drink loads of water, eat a high protein diet, weight train, get my steps in each day. Honestly I don’t know what else I can do to feel better?!

Very low ferritin with top of range haemoglobin can you then safely supplement iron to get ferritin up?
But what I would like to know, if anyone knows, is it safe to supplement
iron
if your haemoglobin is at top of range (despite very low ferritin). I’d read somewhere that it’s dangerous as it can cause dvt????

Went to the Doctors.
I went to the doctors and they agreed it's postural hypotension and it's making my blood pressure go low when I'm standing up they aren't sure what's causing this but think it could be my heart medication and they want to check my
iron
levels to make sure it's not that making me feel dizzy, light headed

iron infusions - how often and how many?
Hello dear fellow RLS sufferers, would like to find out about your experience with
iron
infusions. My mom just had one couple days ago. Her ferritin is 96, and saturation is 19.6. Today she was able to nap during the day, and she wasn't able to do that for a while because of RLS.

Thyroid, Cortisol And Sodium Question
I supplement with
iron
, B12, D, folate, take my meds the right way and test my bloods the right way - fasted, before 9am, etc. So that's not an issue. I've been feeling dizzy, faint, nauseous and just not right and no wonder - my sodium is so low!

think I’ve found my trigger.
My ferritin level came back at 64 so would find it difficult to get an
iron
infusion but will continue with supplements.

bioavailable broad spectrum multi vit?
I got him to ask for an
iron
panel and the results for that look ok. CRP is ok , too. Blood pressure is a bit high but he’s not on meds for it. So - b complex/b12/d / k2 m4/magnesium……will be expensive and he may say no….or is there such thing as a good multivit?

Escape from Augmentation
I also take
iron
bisglycinate with orange juice (0.48mg) every evening at 8pm. I have with my doctor's support temporarily stopped atorvastatin and permanently stopped omeprazole. I intend to ask the GP to change me onto buprenorphine tablets instead of patches.

Confounded by two different results for MMA test. One negative, one positive
He’s unaware of it but it disturbs my sleep and I imagine his too because he wakes unrefreshed and falls asleep on the sofa in the evenings Breathlessness, which has improved since increasing
iron
supplements Lacking in motivation and energy The last two could be attributed to his very low ferritin

Has anyone been on medication for a long while and successfully come off it to follow a natural route?
MY husband has been on Madapar for about 6 years blood test shows low in
iron
and low kidney function, (we had to make appointment with GP to ask for blod tests as neuroligist never suggested it (I think he should have) he has dizzy spells where he stares and shakes more and falls over and the side effects

Anyone getting gout?
My ferritin gets super low then is made really high after the
iron
infusion. Maybe this is causing it? I have read lots on
iron
and b12 possibly causing gout but nothing really concrete. Let me know your thoughts and experiences. Thank you ;)
