Newbie needs advice
Been served anemic for two years just palmed off with
iron
tablets. Have so many symptoms of lupus, but only realised when I logged onto gp records online to see that my latest bloods show first states of liver and kidney failure. Considering I live a health lifestyle I was shocked.

My local haematologist was adamant these were menopause related but Guys reassured me they could be in part due to
iron
deficiency. I have now started Pegasys 45mcg every other week- on the suggestion to go low and slow..

Urgent please help:(
However, my
iron
was really low too. The gynecologist said she can't see any cysts and she thinks this has something to do with my intestines and the colon. I'm so lost now. They want to do a colonoscopy next week, and they think it'll tell them more.

confused about bowels
after my baby boy was born in May 2023 I also got the piles but probably once every few months , I was on
iron
tablets while pregnant due to mild anemia deficiency. I’d have constipation on these and would cause piles to bleed.

Ferritin levels
So I know this isn't "normal" for folks with RLS and I image the GP will put me on
iron
supplements as she wanted it to be above 100. I started "gentle"
iron
every other day 2 weeks ago as I knew the last time my levels were 60. How long before my levels will be raised to over 100? TIA

Morning blood cortisol test, is it worth it?
I should mention I was severely
iron
deficient 3 months ago but ferritin is now coming up. This Medichecks test also includes cortisol.

advice, thoughts please, feeling rather desperate?!
Because my serum
iron
is 2 points over range I sadly cannot take Three Arrows which sits unused in my cupboard 😳 It’s been a tough six months getting from 30mg to 120mg I don’t know where else to go/what else to do. I’ve ordered B vits from iherb. My folate is mid range D and B vitamins ok.

Hormone Help
Also been prescribed
iron
as it’s obviously low, not sure what good it’s doing if I’m still losing blood every day. I figured I’ll give myself chance to see if the break and restart helps, as I know it can take a while for your body to acclimatise.

B12 deficiency v. Ferritin deficiency
They never really are resolved when I take
iron
supplements. Some symptoms improve, but others never go away. On every blood test I’ve had in the last 10 years, my ferritin is around 16-20 with no anemia.

Another update - salivary cortisol and more thoughts on what's going on
So far it is looking like being hypo causes my low libido (came back on more t3 trial recently, so no menopause), lowish estrogen, lowish
iron
, slightly over range glucose at 5.7-5.8, lowish in range sodium etc etc. Hope this helps someone.

Dr's Appointment
He has reduced dose from 100/75 to 75 and said that I can take
Iron
pills for extreme tiredness even though my
iron
levels are fine, but my ferritin is low. I would appreciate your opinions on this as I thought you shouldn't take
Iron
in this case 🤔

Blood tests, T3 and talking to GP
Also allows me to test ferritin and
iron
which I’m working to improve. Any advice on talking to my GP that will enable me to continue with the trial before dropping levo? I’m assuming my TSH will be very low.

DA withdrawal
To treat the RLS, I had an
iron
infusion, which I think saved me. I also take very small doses of gabapentin & opioid. It's amazing to me how ignorant doctors are about this illness. I'll check back in to let you know how it goes. I do believe the brain can heal ...

Should I see an endocrinologist ?and if so can anyone recommend a good one I'm ased in South wales but willing to travel.
I even wrote everything down before my appointment so not to forget anything but she wasn't interested in anything I said and went as far as to say the symptoms I'm getting won't be associated to low thyroid or
Iron
which baffled me as they are symptoms on the NHS website.
