Cortisol levels
Hello everyone, I have recently finally come off pramipexole after 6 months weaning off and I appear to be one of the lucky ones that the iron oral therapy has significantly helped my restless legs. However, I am still not sleeping well and have dipped into the hormonal debate… I think I have high cortisol

Diagnosis at last! Haemochromotosis?
I've posted a few times on this forum but a bit of backstory - hubby, 43 had sudden onset of upper right quadrant pain last December, has some tests for gallstones, found nothing, immediately stopped drinking (had drunk heavily for around 15 years), and after a lot of back and forward was found to have

racing pulse
hi thyroid community. Quick question…I’ve noticed since I’ve been taking Erfa that my pulse races quite often sometimes over 100. Especially when I’m climbing up hill or going up stairs for example. I’ve realised I’ve had this for quite a while (years) and had put it down to being breathless due to

Trying 3 Arrows Iron - UK Test Guide?
Hi I have been struggling to get my ferritin out of the long grass for years. I can force it up a bit now and then but I've never been optimal and often I'm well below optimal. I have come across the excellent SlowDragon posts on 3 Arrows and I'm going to give it a try, for various reasons. But on

still confused about my iron results
I’ve now redone my iron panel with medichecks and have similar results to last time. I can’t work out why my ferritin continues to drop. And what I can do about it as I know I need higher ferritin levels for optimum thyroid hormone function. …………………………… Ferritin……….Iron……….. Trans. Sat………..TIBC……….

Confirming blood tests needed to diagnose hyperthyroid (asking for my sister-in-law)
My sister-in-law told me that she recently was having trouble with excessive sweating... like, have to go home and change a drenched shirt kind of sweating. So as she said it in her words - She went to the general practitioner doctor, they did blood tests, and the numbers were low and so he's referring

iron transfusion
Hi I’m just wondering how long people in the uk have waited for an iron infusion. I requested an iron infusion months and months ago as I can’t tolerate iron orally. Unfortunately my doctor forgot to put me on the waiting list and only amended that about a month ago after I mentioning that I was waiting

Suppression of TSH but low T4/T3 levels whilst taking Levo/Lio Combo
A few years ago, my thyroid results were looking a lot better but NHS GP over the last 2 years has told me to reduce my dosage twice (because of the 'risks' of overtreatment). I'm now on 100mcg levothyroxine (75mcg supplied by GP and topped up by myself) and 25mcg liothyronine (self-sourced). I now don't

Vitamin/supplements
Can I ask what vitamins would be useful to try to support healthy thyroid function. I know iron, and vitamin B12 are important, I wondered if a specific Thyriod supplement was useful. I found this one, does anyone else take this? https://heynutrition.com/products/thyroid-complex?_gl=1*1d25mkn*_gcl_aw

Iron tablets - difference?
I’m based in the UK and am currently taking Ferrous Fumerate (switched from Ferrous Sulphate) to try to increase ferritin levels. My Ferritin levels had gone up and now seem to have dropped a little for some reason - new tests being done soon. I don’t know if this Ferrous Bisglycinate is available

Oral iron regimen
I had an iron infusion (Newcastle uk) last December which put my serum ferritin up from 37 to 237, and helped considerably. However, it has gradually slipped back to 180, so I am hoping to start the oral gentle iron. Please can someone remind me of the best time to take these, and dosage. The tablets

D day is here!
after a year of enduring this tumour, D Day is here! Surgery is just hours away. feeling good. After being left quite ill after a failed iron infusion, but made better by one which worked with a blood transfusion, feeling good. Thats not to say that there arent butterflies, of course there are. But

Low iron, supplementing with 3 Arrows
Hi everyone, I posted about a week ago after having iron studies done through the NHS, it came back that I wasn’t iron deficient enough to be treated by a doctor, but my levels were definitely low enough to start treatment since I’m already experiencing symptoms and don’t want to get worse….. Latest

High TPO antibodies.
My TPO antibody levels have been consistently high around 500 since 2016, tested annually. My TSH and T4 levels are within range requiring no treatment; TSH at 2.51 and T4 15.7. They have also been at similar levels since 2016 tested annually. My GP states that the antibodies cannot be attacking my

Pramipexole, Mirtazapine and RLS
Hi,I suffered from RLS for 12yrs, but never took any medications. Earlier this year after discovering I had ferritin of 18, a short course of iron supplements increasing my ferritin to 55 resolved all RLS symptoms. A few weeks ago I unfortunately developed insomnia due to anxiety and GP commenced Mirtazapine

Iron - test results - advice please
Hi - In a nutshell I'm hypothyroid with a lot of stomach issues - gastritis amongst other things - plus poor converter (I have the dud deiodinase enzyme - test done privately) I mentioned to the GP that I also get a bit out of breath - when I read about 'air hunger' on here it really struck a chord.
