Thankful
My husband had his first chemo treatment of 275ml Docetaxel (Taxotere) on 1/11/24 at 2 pm. Thankfully he has had no bad side effects to it except for flatulence. He has not had to take any pain medication since mid day on 1/11/24. Before that he was having to take Oxycodone 10mg every 4 hours or

how to reduce chemo side effects
I will be starting chemo for my prostate cancer in the next few weeks. Any suggestions as to cooling hats, gloves, and/or socks or other ways to reduce the side effects of chemo. What has been your experience with chemo side effects or your endeavors to reduce them? I expect I will be getting a regimen

After becoming a widow (quite unexpectedly), I find I’m diagnosed with aggressive stage 2 estrogen +, pro estrogen-, and HER2 +. Having a cryoablation procedure 1/31/24 at Sloan Kettering in New York City. It will be followed by chemo and other drugs to target HER 2. Anyone have any experience with

Dealing with erm, unwanted smells in bathroom!
So I'm on chemo yet again, and a more slightly light hearted post I guess, but when my hubby uses the bathroom for erm number 2's the smell just makes me wretch! 🤢 Even when I go number 2 myself actually makes me heave! I've tried various air freshners, but the smell of them combined with au' d'poo

which steroids and what dosage.
Don’t know if the steroid Dexamethosone would be appropriate for brain cancer but your doctor should know. It is given to me every 21 days at Docetaxel chemo infusion for PCa and absolutely eliminates pains. Can last for 12-18 hours. Ask your doc about it. Mike Seattle

Holding very low stable usPSA - 0.03X range for six years; no ADT, no chemo.
Eight years ago this month had RP after considerable investigation - nadir 0.050. Eleven months later had salvage RT; done at 0.10. Then after a year of pondering ADT and chemo, when my usPSA was back up to 0.10, I went to Europe for Ferrotran nano-MRI combined with Ga68 PSMA. The nanoMRI lite up

Has anyone had IVIG as well as intralipids - within the same cycle?
Is this overkill? I have high NK cells and very high cytokines as well as a need for a blood thinner. My clinic's plan involves both IVIG and intralipids (as well as steroids and clexane) a few days before transfer. I've not often seen this being done (intralipids as well as IVIG) so I thought I would

Male fertility & Advice
When I was 15 (2008) I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma Disease and required chemotherapy. I was told it could impact on fertility with the chances being 50/50. I was asked to provide a sample but chose not to. Now in my 30s I am trying for a baby with my partner. We’ve been trying for

Age and timing for Triplet therapy?
I am age 81, active and neither fit nor frail, radiated in 2021 without hormone therapy. Radiated again in 2023 for a pelvic node. In December the PSA rose to 3.78 and a PSMA-PET scan showed cancer growing in prostate, shrinking in pelvic node, and spread to one abdominal node. I started ADT with

Statin use and mortality risk in men on ADT.
New ADT study from Hong Kong (1). "A total of 4920 patients were included, consisting of 2578 statin users and 2342 non-users (mean age 76.1 ± 8.2 years). Over a mean follow-up period of 4.2 ± 3.3 years, it was observed that statin users had significantly lower risks of both PCa-related mortality

Mr Geoff Lloyd
Diagnosed in 2010 with advanced PC. Prostatectomy in 2011 followed by the "all clear". PSA refused to disappear and so RT followed. PSA still present and PC nodules found in my lung in 2021. I then had a 6 session course of chemotherapy and have been on Abiaterone and Demoxosone drugs ever since.Nodules

Divergent second opinion
My husband was recently diagnosed with PCa with 6-7 mets to the bones as seen on the PSMA Pet scan (see profile for details), The first MO we met at an NCCN center recommended triplet therapy. He has started Firmagon + Darulotomide with Docetaxel planned in the coming weeks. We also got a second opinion

PC no longer castrate resistant
Hello all, my latest pet/ct scan indicates my PC is no longer castrate resistant as there is new disease growth in my lungs. Largest lesion is 2.5 centimeters. I'm no longer taking xtandi, so it can be "washed out" of my system prior to new treatment, however I'm still getting quarterly lupron shots

Constipation from PARPS
Hello, I had a recurrence last year after being in remission for over 6 years. I was diagnosed as being a 3C and am BRAC2. I did really well with the chemo and now I have been taking Olaparib for a little less than 3 weeks. It's been rough especially at the beginning. They had to wait a few extra
