I’m not in the same circumstances as you, but if you’d like someone to chat to about this, there’s always the Ovacome helpline on 0800 008 7054, or there are fact sheets and booklets under ‘information and support’ and then ‘about ovarian cancer and treatment’. I hope you can find some support there. I volunteer with a support group and some of the ladies there are in a similar position. It’s a tough time for you but I hope it’s not too difficult.

There’s an email contact on the Ovacome website, if not an Irish number. All the best xx

My tumor has brca1 and I had a recurrence after 8 months. Then I went on Olaparib for three years and have now been off it for a year and still ned. I assume you had a PARP inhibitor?

I will be getting a parb inhibitor this time after surgery and chemo. Did you not get all removed when tumour discovered. What does ned stand for.

Ned means no evidence of disease. It’s equivalent to remission. After my surgery there was one 5 mm spot left on my colon. However my first round of chemo took care of that. After my recurrence about a third of the cancer remained and the PARP inhibitor got rid of that over six months. Good luck with yours!

delia did you not have surgery after reoccurrence I’m told surgery and chemo again and parb inhibitors. They must be good when parb got rid of cancer on its own
