Hydroxyurea Labeling Updated With Information Regarding Interference With continuous glucose monitoring
Important article for those on HU & use continuous glucose monitors. According to the updated labeling, hydroxyurea may falsely elevate sensor glucose results from certain CGM systems. This may lead to hypoglycemia if sensor glucose results are relied upon to dose insulin. https://www.empr.com/

Sharing here because I can't share open in "real life" and need a bit of an outlet. Also hoping that maybe this will help someone else. One year ago today, I came home from an evening out to discover my husband bent double with excruciating pain. At that time he had drunk heavily most nights for 20 years

B12 vials in Latin stores in the U.S.A.
Hello everyone, Because my doctor only prescribed ONE B12 injection every TWO months, I started self-injecting. At first, I was worried about where and how to buy unprescribed B12. I was lucky to already have a dozen "insulin syringes" with already attached needles. Then, an older Latina lady at work

My surgery are doing Blood tests to check for for diabetes, possibly because l am elderly, at 87. My results showed that l did not have diabetes but that l was pre-diabetic. I was rather surprised because l have never been overweight and have a reasonably healthy diet. However l was curious to see if

Low T3 and diabetes risk
I have just read this in depth article on the diabetes U.K. website which clearly states that Low thyroid function is associated with an increased risk of diabetes and pre diabetes. Low T3 increases the risk. The risk is increased even if T3 is low in range. Insulin secretion requires good levels

Feeling really lost
I truly thought i'd fixed the problem and that maybe i'd just had
insulin
resistance
all along. In October 2023, my TSH was 0.8 (i didn't have t4 or t3 tested). One month later, i noticed my hair had begun to fall out in chunks.

Follow up to back strain with a chest muscle strain. It never ends.
Hi again folks. You may remember I posted about straining a back muscle and feeling unwell. This happened 16 days ago and last Sunday I was hitching myself up the bed (using arms, not back muscles)and heard something pop in the middle of my chest. Another searing pain and still feeling poorly, not eating

what I think about the Metformin is the cause of my NAFLD
These days , I think maybe I took too much Metformin ,I have
Insulin
resistance
,so I take Metformin every days, but these days , I know Metformin will decrease Hepatic glycogen output. maybe the Metformin results in the too much Hepatic glycogen.
