Macular Oedema
This week I went for my years late retinal screening. I had noticed I was starting to struggle with small print but put it down to using an old pair of reading glasses (my 2019 ones having broken) and maybe needing some laser treatment. The outcome was a shock. There is no need for anything like laser

INBRAIN PHARMA: direct injection of dopamine into the brain
Injecting dopamine directly into the brain using a small internal pump is what Lille researchers have succeeded in limiting the adverse effects of conventional drugs linked to Parkinson's disease. The InBrain Pharma team is pleased to see its therapeutic solution - backed by very promising initial safety

Hello!
Hi everyone, I’m a T1D and was diagnosed at age 26yrs. I was originally misdiagnosed as T2D by my GP and started on metformin. Although it worked for a while, I became progressively sicker and was later referred into the hospital for support. Like many people, I manage my diabetes with a combination

Carb cravings and - Muffins!
Just a short one. One of the problems with transitioning to a largely low carb high fat lifestyle is the inevitable craving for bread, potatoes, rice and pasta. When I was a child it was only bread and potatoes - pasta was largely unknown, and rice was a pudding. Anyway, many, many low carb recipes

I have been unwell for the last three years with terrible pains in my lags making painful to walk more than 10 meters with out a break. I thought it was something to do with T3 but I have pinpointed to using milk alturnatives ie Oak and coconut for some reason it affect the absorption of the t4. This

Self injecting B12
Hi wanted to ask which sites/companies are best to purchase B12 for self administration. Is it supplied in preloaded syringes or pens like insulin. Which brands, suppliers have given best results?

A positive post.
Hello everyone, I think I am ready to post some outcomes of my Armour + Levo treatment. I am still not quite there, but I have come a long way and need to write this to state that there is hope, that we can persevere almost anything and document improvements. I remember times only a few months ago

Early Wake Up Back-To-Back
Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone. For
two (2) days back-to-back
, I had been
woken up with alarms going off from my CGM saying that I was under 80 mg/dl
. After doing a few tests using my strips/test kit's monitor, I had
2-3 6oz. cans of pineapple juice and protein shakes both

Hello - what do readers think about conservative management of kidney disease instead of having any form of dialysis. I ask this question because now I have been diagnosed with low gfr 17 and high creatinine 440 it looks as though some sort of dialysis is inevitable. I also suffer with chronic insomnia

PD with insulin dependant diabetes.
Hello - is PD better than HD for someone with insulin dependant diabetes. I have read so much on the ins and outs and the does and dont,s that my head is spinning. Has any other member had this dilemma to face - I just want to make things easier for myself and my husband should the need arise. Thanks

Update with Nephrology, Losartan discontinued from my treatment plan
To give an update for today, I talked with Nephrology and losartan was discontinued for now. I was told that hypoglycemia was a rare side effect of the medication so they would like for me to repeat labs in 2-4 weeks. As for my kidney function decreasing, I was told that the increase in BUN and Creatinine
