Fasting Insulin.
The latest Life Extension magazine has a lead article on fasting
insulin
. With
insulin
resistance
, the pancreas produces increased amounts of
insulin
(as long as the beta cells hold out.) This is refected in fasting insulin levels.

which I already have and am predisposed to both gestational diabetes and type 2 diabetes due to my PCOS and also a family history.

Are we eating enough protein?
Although fasting and TRF can be useful tools in some cases, particularly in combating
insulin
resistance
, for others they can be problematic due to the heightened risk of protein deficiency and subsequent loss of muscle mass.

Bariatric surgery, what do you think?
It's a vicious circle that creates
insulin
resistance
and metabolism decrease and I can't lose weight. Are there any other cases in the group that resorted to this operation and had good results?

The sugar connection
The other day I came across a YouTube video by Alyssa Kuhn claiming that
insulin
resistance
plays a part in arthritis. It deprives the cartilage and synovial fluid of glucose. My blood sugar and weight were normal and I did not like very sweet things, but still it has made a difference.

Tests required after more troubles with thyroxine
I got in touch with him to tell him what I’m experiencing and he suggested I get the following tests cortisol (9 am) Glucose Hba1c
Insulin
levels (?
insulin
resistance
) My question is where is the best place to get these? I can’t seem to find an option for insulin levels.

The Evolving Role of Diet in Prostate Cancer Risk and Progression
"Recent data have further solidified the association between
insulin
resistance
and prostate cancer ...". It's good to finally read that, although data to suggest it has been around for 20 years or so.

what I think about the Metformin is the cause of my NAFLD
These days , I think maybe I took too much Metformin ,I have
Insulin
resistance
,so I take Metformin every days, but these days , I know Metformin will decrease Hepatic glycogen output. maybe the Metformin results in the too much Hepatic glycogen.

Covid Booster
I live in the Scottish Borders, my husband recently had his Booster (Spring One ) on Wednesday he is over 75. I got the winter one the same time as him. I didn’t get any notification to have one this time. So I called the number on his letter to ask if there had been an oversight as I have cirrhosis

Airport travel with Injections
Can some experienced travellers who use Pegasys give me some advice please. I am travelling this week from the UK to Mexico, and have bought a Disoncare insulin cooler to keep my Pegasys syringes in whilst travelling. I will keep this in my Hand Luggage, but I’m not sure what to do with the needle

Change to diet
Plodding along for years with T2, first metformin but now insulin twice per day. Reasonably good diet, try to avoid added or high sugar, although carbs can be my downfall, mostly active, low alcohol consumption. Blood glucose readings fairly consistent, though slightly above target and keep nudging
