Best diet for brain hypometabolism?

I see a discussion on how to improve brain metabolism, but I don't know which one is true? Should a low carb o ketogenic diet be used to reverse insulin resistance and improve cognitive function?

WRT brain fuel, there are only 2 options: Glucose and Ketones.

Insulin resistance means impaired glucose uptake into cells. That leaves Ketones as the only option for feeding insulin resistant cells.

Are there people here who have experience with metformin for their PD? Do neurons respond to metformin to improve brain hypometabolism?

From my experience I would advise a ketogenic lifestyle. Here's what I do myself: ketogenic diet, regular fasting for several days, never eating breakfast and OMAD. Supplemented with MCT oil (C8) 3 to 4 times a day. The goal is to get ketone levels up. You can also measure this with a glucose/ketone meter. My guideline is above 1 mmol/l ketones. I don't (yet) do exogenous ketones

Isn't MCT oil exogenous ketone?

As far as I know MCT oil is an oil that it is quickly metabolized into energy by the liver. By exogenous ketones I meant ketose esters and ketone salts.

I understand that MCT oil is converted into ketones by the liver. But I get the point
