Week 1 run 1 part 2
Well I graduated about 12 months ago but since then have had all sorts of injuries etc and haven’t been running at all. I did try about 6 months ago and thought I could pick up where I left off. Wrong! Anyway, tonight I completed Wk1 run1 and apart from a tight chest ( just getting over a heavy cold)

Blood Glucose Levels
Hi, New here so hello :) About 2 weeks ago my Dad has a bit of a health scare and was hospitalised for about 5 Days. He's diabetic and it turned out he was not self medicating correctly as his Nurse changed the Insulin pen and he was not getting the right amount of insulin. I know I'm a prime candidate

Pulmonary Oedema following heart attack
My husband had a heart attack on Friday. He was taken straight to the cath lab from the ambulance, and they said there was a massive clot in a major artery. They were able to remove some of the clot but because it was so big they did not insert a stent (danger it would push clots around the heart) and

Maspin. (& Curcumin, Luteolin, etc.)
New study below [1]. The Maspin-PCa literature is barely 20 years old, but there have been some intriguing findings. The name doesn't give much away - Maspin (mammary serine protease inhibitor). Maspin is considered to be a tumor suppressor gene. In PCa, its presence is associated with improved adhesion

Low Testosterone or Depression
Hi, 45 yr male going through a rough patch with depression, severe stress, cognitive and libido issues. GP is firmly in the "you have health anxiety and this is depression" camp, which I am prone to, but I decided to get my androgens checked (again). My total T in August 2017 was 24.7 n/mol but Jan

Is diabetes in the brain more than in the pancreas? Changing paradigms of diabetes type 2

Why endocrinologists get it wrong
I've been thinking about the fact that most endocrinologists seem to be expert in diabetes and only secondarily if at all in matters such as thyroid. Thyroid is treated in a simplistic way from a belief that it is indeed a simple matter compared with diabetes. Why do so many of them have no clue as to

Update... UTI symptoms but now no growth in urine culture.
At this point I am quite confused and worried about what is going on I have posted on here before about this as I was really unsure of what was happening to me. It started with pain in my right abdomen spread to my back. Went to A&E three times in three days to which they tested my urine each time and

T2D how to differentiate the types?
Can we diagnose what type in t2D in the starting stage?. I mean is it insulin resistance?, or lack of insulin?, or liver issues(fatty liver). Seems t2 is a bit complicated and the onslaught is different for different people. Is there anyway of knowing the root cause?

Pseudomonas bug
Hi, I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis 5 months ago, although my consultant thinks I’ve had it longer. I’ve just been on 6 weeks eradication treatment of cipro for Pseudomonas infection. A recent test shows it didn’t work. I’ve been to see my consultant today and he is referring me for twice daily nebulisers
