Behavior Charts and teacher issues
My son is in 2nd grade and is sent home with a chart of his day and if he was able to do three things in each part of the day(stay on task, stay in his area, remain calm). But the teacher also writes down every wrong thing he does all day long. It always in a negative tone and she quotes things that

GestationalDiabetes in the first trimester
Hi, I’m really worried, I have had gestational diabetes in a previous pregnancy so decided to test myself at 10 weeks and found out I had it again, the hospital wouldn’t do a GTT test until 16 weeks which was on Monday confirming I have it. However when I saw the diabetic nurse today she said I should

Comfort food ... and diabetes
Just in case anyone missed it, Kes8 posted a link to this website: https://thelowcarbkitchen.co.uk/ Which has some really good ideas on it for those of you who miss your carbs! Apart from that, the author's story is well worth reading. She states that she's T1D, but the course of her illness sounds

Dad not going to survive
Hello, I've been told today over the phone by a doctor that dad will not survive and will die soon. He isn't eating or drinking (as thickened which he hates) and has been delirious over the weekend. I wanted the doctors to know that dad isn't usually like this unless he's in pain, or wants something

I am the only careprovider of my husband who received a kidney transplant over 5 months ago. First 2 months were great, and then problems arose and all is fine now except for low hemoglobin. I give him "Procrit" 3X a week by injection (he shakes so badly is reason for he gives 4X a day insulin shots

Low cortisol levels thyroid hormone levels, especially on T3/NDT
I find this article on low cortisol, and the interaction between thyroid hormone and cortisol, very interesting, especially since it was written by a doctor able to think outside the box: http://hormonerestoration.com/Cortisol.html A few months ago, I weaned myself off Medrol (put on 4 mg daily by hormone

Insulin Resistance & PCOS
Hi everyone, so last week I was diagnosed with insulin resistant PCOS. To be honest it was like the penny dropped! Hyperthyroid symptoms, enormous appetite and weight gain...could leptin and reverse T3 be the answer?
I have been critical of some of the things this doctor says, especially since trying to "flush out" high rT3 by adding 25 mcg of T3 to 3 grains of NDT (after reading a success story about one of his patients who lost ca 20 kgs of weight doing that). However, the following article could have been written

ED (erectile dysfunction)
One of the most common problems with long term TYPE 1 insulin dependant diabetes is ED and I’m not embarrassed to say I suffer with this and have done for the last 25yrs or more having had Type 1 diabetes for 43yrs now. Most type 1’s, don’t seem to suffer with diabetic complications for many years

End of battery life for CDI device!
I've just got back from hospital from my husband's checkup of his device. He has had it 7 years. Now the battery is down to the last 6%. If it's not used too much i.e. electric shocks, it should last 6 months. But though the technicians were trying to be very supportive and helpful I sensed they were

How are you coping with Prednisone hunger?
I have been dealing with prednisone hunger since being diagnosed with pmr. in 2016. I have gained 15 lbs. in that time and am now trying to take the weight off. I am really struggling with the hunger prednisone causes. I have lost lbs by taking protein shakes and 1 meal a day. No snacking, no sugar
