Hi everyone, so last week I was diagnosed with insulin resistant PCOS.
To be honest it was like the penny dropped! But I need to look at how I’m losing weight, I was calorie counting via nhs app but it’s been recommended to scratch that and eat consistently of unprocessed foods, and healthy fats whilst cutting out carbs and dairy.
I wondered if anyone else has PCOS and is trying to lose weight? Xxx

You'll get help with changing to a low carbohydrate, high fat way of eating from this forum healthunlocked.com/lchf-diet , though there are plenty of people on this forum who follow that approach
I'm a type 1 Diabetic who also has PCOS. For both conditions, I count carbs. so the blood sugars stay stable and I don't have too many issues with the PCOS at the same time. I have learned that if you eat too many carbs., first thing, the blood sugars go too high. Second, the PCOS can get worse symptoms. For me, lots of cramps and more unwanted hair growth. Have you talked to your doctor about counting carbs. for both issues?
I had PCOS and they missed it. I was very active so it helped me a lot. Without realizing it after fertility drugs it got worse. I began eating paleo before paleo was a thing. If I did eat carbs it was brown rice. If you have digestive issues use digestive enzymes. You have to do a lot of prep and make your own sweets with diff flours you’ll have to see what you tolerate because we still are human. Low glycemic diet so for taste use oils and herbs. I use rice milk if you read the nutritional value it’s very good. I was surprised. Study low glycemic. I Would batch cook & stir fry. I Would also suggest seeing a Naturalpathic doctor go with your blood work you had especially hormones. You might be surprised at what they can do for you. I k ow it’s expensive but with your diet and their help i had a lot more success. & control your stress you need to keep your hormones balanced.
