Hypothyroid - How to best supplement with iron
I am a hypothyroid 35 year old male, 72 kg 6 ft living in New Zealand and I currently take T3 only medication (looking to switch back to NDT though). My Iron panel shows sub-optimal values. As it is my last mineral to get right in order for thyroid medication to work, I would like to get advice on good

Anyone know of a ferrous gluconate liquid which is a prescription strength?💪💪
Hi there all, its me again, I've had a problem with my iron for around 9 months now (you regulars know the story) I am waiting for my referral appt to GI as I'm celiac too and my iron levels are not budging, it could be that I had been taking floravital liquid which is only a very small dose of iron-

I have been suffering from exhaustion and iron deficiency anaemia for as long as I can remember. Drs only act when I am pregnant usually! I pushed for bloods a couple of weeks ago as I was struggling to cope with my day to day life and concentrating at work. My bloods came back at Hb 66 (6.6) and ferritin

When to take vitamins
I know that calcium and iron are 4 hours after taking Levo but are there any that I can take with my breakfast especially vit b12 and vit D and C . These are a few of the ones that ramp me up so the earlier the better. I am on no other medications

More media nonsense
ITV’s This Morning had a bit by some celebrity doctor about B12. Apparently the vast majority of people with a severe deficiency need a few injections but are then OK with tablets. And vegetarians can get enough B12 from soya! http://www.itv.com/thismorning/health/dr-ranj-do-you-really-need-vitamin-b12

RLS and iron levels
Hi I am in my late sixties and have had RLS since an early age. I have recently found that taking vitamin C ( I take in powder form) has reduced and some nights stopped the RLS. Vitamin C helps absorption of iron. I hope this helps for someone.

I'm new here - normal (?) B12 levels but low folate - help, I don't know what to think...
I'm new here - normal (?) B12 levels but low folate - help I'm TOTALLY confused.... Having felt absolutely awful for ages and suspecting a thyroid problem I elected to have the Thyroid Ultra Test offered by Medichecks. I've had a problem with low ferritin levels, diagnosed 10 years ago after the birth

Good B12 level?
My B12 is 544 ng/L. Is that an OK level? The private doc is willing to give me shot of B12 and says some people need more than the norm. Can you have too much B12? I asked for Active B12 as I had read that the NHS test is not thorough enough, but he said there is only one type of test. So now I

Cheapest online test for Vitamin levels?
I want to check my vitamin levels but don't want to pay for the full Medichecks thyroid profile, I have just started Levothyroxine 25mg so will do this for 6 weeks before retest at the GPs. The doctor will not test for Vitamin levels so I guess I will have to do this on my own. I am looking to see where

B complex, folate, iron (getting cofactors in order)
Questions for the hive mind. Have been on 3 monthly b12 jabs for a few years now. (I was 109 pmol/L at diagnosis) And despite initial positive response to the first few loading jabs, since then (on quarterly injections) I have gotten steadily worse. More fatigue. Neuropathy. Mental fog etc. One thing

Over range B12 and serum folate
Hi everyone, After months of feeling so much better and so much more relaxed, now I am again starting to suffer periods of anxiety. This time I'm pinning all my anxious thoughts on my vitamin B12 and folate results from last November😕. B12 856 ng/L [190 - 800] - Above high reference limit Serum folate

Hello Everyone !!! I'm relatively new here but have posted before. In May I was diagnosed with PA with a b12 level of 153. Hypothyroid - best set of blood tests to get
I am hypothyroid and am currently on Slow Release T3. It seems I can't tolerate too much T3 and at lower levels I experience a lot of hypo symptoms. I am also supplementing with Fludrocortisone to increase my aldestorone levels and some hydrocortisone to try to have more T3 enter my cells. I have tested

What is a useful dosage for folate, ferritin, magnesium (and others?) to assist the B12 injections?
None of the health professionals I have seen have mentioned folate, ferritin, magnesium, or anything else in relation to B12 deficiency, but I've seen them mentioned here as being important. Can anyone recommend an effective daily dosage? I'm sure there is an official list showing required daily amounts
