Low stomach acid DUE TO b12 deficiency
Hello. While we commonly hear that low stomach acid can cause b12 deficiency, what I hear less about is that having a b12 deficiency being able low stomach acid. What is everybody's thought on this? It's somewhat of a chicken vs egg thing here. As for me being a long time strict vegan (and doubt

Restless legs and iron supplements
Hey guys, As are many of you, I'm looking for the root cause of my restless legs and I think I have it narrowed down to a functional iron deficiency. Recently, I've been working with a naturopath and she's had me taking oral iron supplements. It's a bit of a risk because even though my serum iron is

Heart palpitations b12???
Just curious because I have had no answers from doctors! Basically the reason I got diagnosed with my b12/iron/folate deficiency was because I kept feeling heart “flutters” or palpitations everyday sometimes even felt them in my throat my ECG came back normal but my heart rate was a little fast (I was

Where can I buy safe Methyl B12 for UK use?
Hi, Myself & daughter both diagnosed with B12 deficiency. She’s on monthly injections, I’m on 3 monthly, but we SI with hydro B12 in between. DNA testing did show up genetic mutations linked to difficulty processing B12, but not the dreaded MTHFR, but we need folate over folic acid etc & I wonder

Is it worth getting your vitamin B6 levels checked?
Hello, As described in previous posts, I've been vegan for 7 years and developed serious b12 deficiency. Prior to supplementation, I've had weakness in the legs, muscle atrophy, poor digestion, weakness and depression for years. My b12 was down to 159, I have a mild anemia (12.7 hemoglobin at last

Serum B12 reducing when not supplementing
Hi, I wonder if reduction of B12 levels when not supplementing indicates that there is a B12 issue? I have posted before and my GP/Gp's state that I do not have a B12 issue despite symptoms because I have supplemented and raised levels. In 2011 I started with significant burning mouth and re internet

Can you have too much B12?
Hi all I'm new to this site. I have PA, diagnosed 2008, but did not start treatment until 2017, because my levels were always good. I also have Hypothyroidism. And have been treated for 9 years. I recently had a blood test my B12 was 2000. And my Ferretin levels were 40. I have read that the B12 should

Can't increase ferritin
Hi, previously I found out I was anaemic, low b12, low vitamin d, low magnesium, low ferritin. Suspected subclinical hypothyroidism. I took supplements and everything (apart from vit d) went up, with heamocrit at 38% But my ferritin has gone down from 25 to 21 The iron I was taking is bioheme (Iron glycinate

INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Good afternoon all, now that I am taking the time to actually face reality with my recent diagnosis I wanted your feedback on my results as outlined below. I should point out that I will be revisiting my GP in the near future again to discuss my condition further however I wondered what steps I should

B12 & Health Anxiety
Has anyone’s low b12 triggered health anxiety? I was diagnosed with b12 deficiency last year and ever since have felt really bad anxiety. I know anxiety can be a symptom but I have been having regular injections for b12 and still can’t seem to shake the anxiety feeling?

PA???
I had a MMA blood test to check my B12 levels this was in January 2019, I was using a B12 spray then for energy as I have ME and fibromyalgia but came off the spray two weeks before I had the MMA blood test so would my result be skewed as it showed no deficiency of B12 when I was off the B12 spray those

B12 deficiency likely down to Ferritin
I really hope this helps somebody. I really don’t want to sound like I’m moaning. I am 54 years of age and have spent my life from about the age of 19 ( I started my period at 14 and 5 months) feeling tired forgetful and if I’m honest probably a little miserable, this manifested into feeling depressed

Difference between PA and B12 deficiency
I’m confused on something with this. Most of you here have PA which, correct me if I’m wrong, means that you lack intrinsic factor to absorb B12 even though you are getting B12 in your diet. What is the difference between that and someone like a vegan who develops B12 deficiency and can absorb it.

Is doctor's remark accurate?
I'm in the beginning stages of possibly getting diagnosed, and asked my doctor about the specific testing and got this response: "MTHFR is part of a cascade related to formation of homocystine. We will only see issues with this if your B12 level is low, not high. We know that your body is absorbing
