Reduce in thyroid meds after b12 treatment? ???

Long shot but has anyone with underactive thyroid, had there meds reduced after treatment for b12 deficiency?

What im asking does b12 improve thyroid function after treating deficiency?

Have had a very quick look at your earlier posts/threads - and I am not sure what your thyroid issue is. Which Thyroid meds are you taking ? - do you have Hashimotos ? It is often suggested on the Thyroid UK forum that good levels of B12 - Folate - Ferritin & VitD are needed for good funtioning of thyroid hormones - in the main the conversion of T4 into the Active hormone T3. What makes you think you can reduce your thyroid meds ? - do you have some results you could share which may indicate a reduction ...

I have underactive and on 75mg thyroxine, was just curious if anyones thyroid had improved after treatment, just finding mine is making me feel unwell after taking now

It might be a good idea to pop across to ThyroId UK and post this question 😊 Do you have test results you could post there - perhaps someone can spot something ...

I have read here that people often feel unwell before they feel better.

I have PA and underactive Thyroid. I have fortnightly B12 injections for life and it has had no lowering effect on my medication for Thyroid (Levothyroxine 125mg).

some people do need to reduce levo after treatment for B12 - no clear reason why and as you can see from other responses, some people notice no difference
