B12 Levels How quick can they fall?
Some quick info... I was diagnosed with severe B12 deficiency last year with a test reading of 94. I really was quite ill and close to collapse. I had a negative antibody test so I probably don't have PA. However, because of the COVID issue I haven't been able to have any more B12 injections since I

Iron vs. Ferritin - do we need both optimal to feel best?
Hi all, My latest lab results showed the following; IRON - 153 (50-170) FERRITIN - 37 (10-204) So my iron is fine but ferritin very low. Is that still a problem? Do we need both ferritin and iron to be high in order to feel best? To be fair I never had to think about it cos both were always low for

Vitamin blood results
Hi everyone. Hope you're all well. I had my vitamin blood results, and I am a bit confused about my B12. It's 48pmol / L for range of 25.1 to 165. Since January, it only increased from 39 to 42 in April and now 48. Is this normal for b12 to increase so slowly? I'm taking 2 pills of B complex which

Ferrous sulphate tablets and upset stomach
I have had heavy periods. Put on pill. Low iron. Been put on ferrous sulphate 200 tablets but iron not gone up in month. Diarrhoea in morn. Constipated at night. Now being sent for colonoscopy and frightened. Anyone just think it could be iron related but why haven’t my iron gone up. Maybe because

Reference for not testing once b12 injections started? Threatening to stop injections due to high b12 levels in blood test.
Hiya I have a call booked with the practice nurse who wants to stop my b12 injections as a recent blood test shows levels that are 'too high'. Can anyone point me to NICE guidelines or smilar that state that once b12 injections have commenced, b12 levels should not be checked? I am diagnosed with pernicious

Vitamin D deficiency may raise risk of getting COVID-19.
In a retrospective study of patients tested for COVID-19, researchers at the University of Chicago Medicine found an association between vitamin D deficiency and the likelihood of becoming infected with the coronavirus. "Vitamin D is important to the function of the immune system and vitamin D supplements

B12 help
Hi everyone! So 4 years ago i started having 3 monthly b12 injections. Wasn’t told if I was deficient or not. I was pregnant at the time and was told to book in for an injection. The nurse said book in for another one in 3 months so that’s what I’ve been doing since. Recently had bloods done as I felt

Am I still not absorbing iron?
My b12 was 88ng/L and iron 4ug/L.... after 3 years of symptoms, I have had my 5 b12 loading jabs a month ago and taking ferrous fumarate every other day as any more than that gives me diarrhoea. I'm not sure I'm absorbing the iron if its doing that to me. Still have bouts of tiredness and tingling and

PRIVATE IRON TESTING - MEDICHECKS ANY GOOD????
I was on the Medichecks website ordering a thyroid ultravit etc test and out of interest checked to see if they did an iron test, as I need to find out what is going on with my iron and was searching for a test. Medichecks do one which tests iron (I am assuming this is serum iron) ferritin, UIBC, TIBC
