Vitamin D Recommendations and COVID-19
There are conflicting views regarding vitamin D levels. I read up on vitamin D in the 1990s, so I am a bit out of touch now. The (now defunct?) ‘Vitamin D Council’ recommend unusually high levels. I have ignored their publications because I dislike people and organisations that use terms like ‘council

High B12 low Ferritin
Latest blood test shows high B12 of 1537 ng/L (197-771) and low ferritin 17 ug/L (30-400) GP prescribed iron tablets but no concern raised re B12. I do supplement both but stopped 5 days before blood tests. Is the high B12 worrying/ should I stop supplementing? I am on t3 only and that shows as 5.7 pmol

Haptocorrin and B12 Absorption
I've pasted below an excerpt from a paper which described how low vitamin D levels can cause insomnia. It also discussed why low vitamin D can lead to B12 deficiency. During my many, many hours of online research I've never read anything about this, has anyone else? Why vitamin D deficiency can lead

Is my iron okay for NDT?
Is my iron panel okay for attempting to start NDT? My vit D is 60 and B12 is 488 so I think they are fine.

Has Vitamin D help anyone's RLS?

Vitamin D: More Is Not Better - article by Chris Kresser

(Not specific to people with thyroid dysfunction, and written before Covid19) https://chriskresser.com/vitamin-d-more-is-not-better [i]Healthcare practitioners are increasingly aware of the risks of low

Help with vitamin levels - Blood test results
hi all, just had my blood results back and feeling a bit disappointed that my vitamin levels seem to have all gone down (with the exception of vitamin D). Also despite my GP requesting T3 this wasn't done by the labs. Should i get this done separately now for my own records or wait till my next bloods

Iron Infusion Query
Hello again PAS Got great advice a year ago for suspected PA (& joined PAS) & am back with another query. No results to post (as staying with family while incapacitated) but was refused a B12 injection therapeutic trial by GP (neuro symptoms, anaemia (ferritin), negative IFAB & B12 in 500’s). I

Study finds over 80 percent of COVID-19 patients have vitamin D deficiency.
Vitamin D deficiency was more prevalent in men. Over 80 percent of 200 COVID-19 patients in a hospital in Spain have vitamin D deficiency, according to a new study published in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. Vitamin D is a hormone the kidneys produce that controls

What is the vitamin/thyroid link?
I have always been confused by the low levels and constant supplementation that seems to be necessary for me (and many of you) who have hypothyroidism despite, in my case, a very good diet containing iron, minerals and vitamins- (I understand vitamin D supplementation is often necessary despite diet)

How do you test for b12 absorption?
How can I test my b12 absorption? I had my b12 tested a few months ago and it looked normal, but I have Hashimoto's and also tingling hands, dizziness, eye twitching, and gut issues -- all of which correlate to low b12. So I'm wondering if I'm maybe just not absorbing it. I've read that this can happen

High vitamin B12 level
Hi, I am a vegetarian and three years ago was diagnosed with low vitamin B12 (164ng/L range 190-800). I have been taking supplements ever since and my latest test has just come back at 1170ng/L (range 190-800). Is this classed as dangerous and, if so, how do I lower my levels? Thanks in advance. 😀
