Levothyroxine sodium – Anhydrous vs. Pentahydrate
There is a difference between levothyroxine sodium (anhydrous) and the most common hydrated form, levothyroxine sodium pentahydrate. Five water molecules are attached to the levothyroxine sodium molecule in the pentahydrate; none in the anhydrous.

What to eat during a crisis? (No water or power)
I live in an area where we get hurricanes and we usually buy canned food to get through while we have no running water or power. With my recent diagnosis i can’t eat prepackaged, high sodium foods. What do you guys do or would recommend for a situation like this?

Flucuationg blood pressure
In the past several months, I've been reducing my prednisone from 5mg to currently 3mg. I've had high blood pressure for many years and take three medications for it (despite implementing all the lifestyle changes). About 8 weeks ago, my bp spiked to some very high levels...180/85. My internist added

Has a) anyone been taking (on Drs advice) MCT Oil and/or Marine Collagen; as an adjunct to health, and b) does anyone know of contra-indications for either of these products when one has NAFLD? Thank you.

8 months waiting to not be given a diagnosis...?
Eat painkillers and
Imodium
every day? I have days where I can't even get off the toilet or move from my bed, so I can't make it into work. Surely, this can't be nothing??? I'm wondering, especially the people who have been diagnosed with Crohn's, is it possible to miss Crohn's on a MRI scan?

Terrible guts after flu
I managed to start eating a little with the meds the GP gave me, but the diarrhoea started again on Christmas Eve and I was running to the loo with terrible pains on Christmas Day and I collapsed for a few moments, so I took
Imodium
.

SNAC and B12 (and other absorption enhancers)
Eligen B12 claims improved absorption due to SNAC. The testing was done on a small number of "normal" subjects - and the paper is from 2011. Any opinions on whether it has any role whatsoever in confirmed Pernicious Anaemia? Or even just B12 defiency that does not appear to resolve by using standard

Finally getting somewhere... hopefully
So I haven't posted in 4 months as I was waiting until I had something more to report. I had my 12 week lupus anticoagulant follow up test and this came back positive again with a note that if this is not caused by lupus then it needs following up. The luoys unit have signed me off so haven't looked

Alternative therapies: what I've learned
I've been on the PMR journey since 2014, and the pred episode since 2015. In that time I've also had an osteoporosis scare. Those interested in what I did about that can read https://healthunlocked.com/pmrgcauk/posts/137578304/my-osteoporosis-journey - a bit dated now, but successful anyway.... When

Is this recovery?
Im a touring musician who's had gigs a few times a month thus taking around one dose of
imodium
once per week since October. I've found the effects to last up to 9 days sometimes but can't tell if it's me getting better or the power of the drug.

TRANSPLANT EVAL FRUSTRATION AS WELL AS RISING BMI
My kidneys holding steady at stage 4 and renal function a little better. Getting AV fistula in my left upper arm next Monday. Started eval in November. Saw a different Gp on purpose. Only one available anyhow reason 3 x strange 'turns last one last night. He said I should only be having 3 monthly b12 injections. Didnt need to take tablets. Increasing Levothyroxine made my blood work worse
I'm new here but absolutely desperate for some answers. I’m sorry this is going to be long. I was diagnosed hypothyroid back in 2013 and did okay on 25 mcg/day of Levothyroxine. My TSH was never ideal, often a bit above the acceptable range, but whenever they tried to increase my dose I got tons of
