Saw a different Gp on purpose. Only one available anyhow reason 3 x strange 'turns last one last night.
He said I should only be having 3 monthly b12 injections. Didnt need to take tablets. I politely said the neurologist said to follow the bnf guidelines and I wasnt there today to discuss my b12 regime. Bp of course high now.isually 110/70 I really thought another doctor may look af the symptoms in s different way. (Never seen him before. Not one of the usual 6 apparently one of the partners though. ) His answer was to call 999 if it happened again. His opinion it was anxiety. Grrr I did explain i was af home looking forward to pancakes.
Of Maybe another form of migraine
So has anyone had.
Sudden onset. Ashen complexion off balance
Internal tremors . Head rush/sizzle tinnitus very very fast. Nausea. Cant move much but drinking. Then all calms down
And suddenly fall asleep sitting up in a horrid way.
Had similar when first ill.i had a b12 I je tions 7 days ago. Had been restless all day as cant read ect and head pains in the skull rather than a headache. So weary
Has anyone had anything similar?
The Gp suggested sodium valproate. Another to look up . I duxnt want medication but some sort of explanation.
He did have me in for 30 mins.
Any thoughts appreciated

I hope you'll find answers. If he suggested sodium valproate, does it mean he thought the event might have been a seizure? I've read that methylmalonic acid can cause seizures in people with elevated levels due to genetic effects. Is there any chance you could have functional b12 deficiency? I.e. high serum b12 but elevated MMA?
Antioxidants seem to have some effect against MMA-induces seizures.
Interesting that higher MMA and lower b12 was both found to be related to migraine despite being (on average) well within the reference ranges:
"The serum levels of B12 were found to be significantly lower in migraine patients than in healthy subjects (512 ± 300 vs 667 ± 351 pg/mL, P = .007); whereas migraineurs had higher levels of MMA than controls (1.39 [0.59,4.01] vs 1.01 [0.49,1.45] µg/dL, P = .027)."
"CONCLUSION: Taken together, these findings suggest that participants with lower vitamin B12 and higher MMA levels that considered as lower functional activity of B12 had higher odds of migraine."
There's an inverse relationship between b12 and MMA, and just as b12 tends to decrease with age, MMA tends to increase with age.
I think this shows that it may be worth keeping b12 high within range and MMA low within range.
I will ask to get my MMA tested thanks. I'm on 2 weekly hydrox b12 I jections which must keep my levels up. I was told by regular Go to take tablets. I had them anyhow but I dint know if any benefit.
Do you think this doctor, since he thought you had a migraine attack, would be willing to check your MMA if he's informed about the connection between migraine and MMA?
I don't understand all of the paper, but it seems clear that MMA is more relevant than homocysteine for migraine. Some people have problem forming the right cofactor, adenosylcobalamin, for the b12-containing enzyme related to MMA. They also mention increased oxidative stress in relation to migraine.
Part of the article is quite technical, but there must be some doctor somewhere that can make sense of it. And MMA need not be above ref range to be significant for migraine.
Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise that the last GP thought it was migraine? If they are willing to read up on the connection between b12, MMA and migraine and perhaps investigate further. If only they would listen, right?
I'm not saying I agree with this doctor, but I used to suffer the most horrendous migraines.
Both painless where I would just see shimmering auras that would close my vision in, no pain, no symptoms, just vision.
Then there were those where I just wanted to die, feeling like my head was being tightened in a vise, feeling very sick, until I was physicalky sick, then I would try to sleep till it went, just horrible, but I just put it down to stress.
Since every other day injections, (touch wood) I've not had either in well over a year now.
Yes I'm pleased every other day Injections helping yoh still. Hard to do but good itx working.
I think it is sorts of migrain and tension headaches going on most of the time and peaking when weary of in artificial lights.
I was on every other day injections for some time. I will have tk look back in my notes/diary.
My head is clamped most of the time as is my jaw ect
Ive stayed off heavy meds.
The nasty nasty horrendous pain migraines that went on for days have not happened for some time. So improvement The strange trance like horrid 'turns' new??
Tightened in a vice is how I described some of the headaches to the neurologist. hD thought c9nstznf crzmpinv of ghd nuchal muscles. Chronic tension ongoing. He then discharged me!! He suggested propranolol.
I'm only stressed when feeling too ill. As it scares me now how long to any decent functioning.
