Docetaxel & Nintedanib for Non Small Cell Lung Cancer with Mets to the bones
He then had five doses of
immunotherapy
(nivolumab) but it did not work at all. Went to see the oncologist yesterday who advised that there were new lesions in both lungs and things had taken a turn for the worse.

Study: Men with CDK12 mutation may benefit from checkpoint immunotherapy
Chinnaiyan and team to hypothesize that these tumors may be visible as “bad apples” to the immune system – and that
immunotherapy
may work for these patients." EDIT: About 6% of men with advanced PCa have the CDK12 mutation.

Heard a distant ROR; now getting a bit closer?
I googled a bit and could only find a 2014 MD Anderson newsletter discussing such research under the subheading - Adoptive
Immunotherapy
with Genetically Modified T cells (CAR therapy).

Self paying for immunotherapy?
Anyone in the Canadian cyber community having to self pay for life saving
immunotherapy
treatment? I'd love to know how many of us are out there feeling left out of the provincial medical support system and insurance lack of support.

Interesting Resource No. 2 - An interview with neuroimmunology expert Professor Malu Tansey
"My concern with the immunotherapies underway is that we need to be very careful to consider the potential disadvantages of targeting a protein that we don’t know enough about yet." https://tmrwedition.com/2018/07/06/interview-with-neuroimmune-expert-prof-malu-tansey/

MY DEAR SISTER'S STRUGGLE IS OVER
To all my dear Free to Breathe friends, It is with a heavy heart that I must report that my sister, Marta, has passed away. It was a very hard struggle since the end of this last February and we are deeply saddened by our loss. Her metastasized lung cancer, unfortunately, was discovered way too late

Immunotherapy could be less effective for women with cancer than for men
The major review published in The Lancet found
to be on average half as beneficial for female cancer sufferers than male. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanonc/article/PIIS1470-2045(18)30261-4/abstract

Discussion with consultant if there is new cancer activity new treatment of systemic would be offered, she was previously informed that
immunotherapy
