Trial update - parp inhibitor & immunotherapy combo
Hello everyone I've just had the results of my first CT scan since starting the BGB A317 & BGB290 trial. After 9 weeks of treatment my main tumour has shrunk by about 50% and the smaller ones are also reduced (but a bit harder to measure), my CA125 is now down to an "almost normal" 58. My oncologist

I am a newbie on this site...
The course of treatment currently being discussed is Provenge
immunotherapy
more than likely followed by Xtandi or Zytiga. The fact that the cancer had metastasized kind of took the wind out of my sails.

. - Is there potential for
immunotherapy
or cellular therapy in CLL? - CAR T-cell therapy has activity; we know that. Perhaps it hasn't looked as good in CLL as it has in lymphoma or acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

The

he was on did not work from the outset (nivolumab) and he is now on this new combination but unsure whether he will be able to continue with this.

Second Stage 4 treatment for us is now Yervoy
Short synopsis of where we are in treatment of Melanoma 3.5 years ago my husband felt an odd spot on the top of his head about the size of a pimple but blue/black in color. Nothing in the lymph nodes. It was staged 3B melanoma. Surgically removed. 3 months later he had developed in-transit melanoma

Anxiety!
I am so afraid the
immunotherapy
isn't working, what if he has more tumors? I have an anxiety disorder and this has been so difficult for me. Do any of you have any advice on how to cope? I can't live on klonopin i have 3 kids at home. I feel alone in this.

Why Metastatic PC is Not Curable
This was such a good answer by Tall_Allen, I thought it deserved its own post. Most people have the wrong model of metastatic prostate cancer in their heads. They think of it as a weed that crops up: Keep after the weeds long enough and eventually no more weeds. A more accurate metaphor

The NHS says they can do nothing for me as am now a B8 on the Child-Pugh score 9 (was in the A group several times but was told to wait for the right treatment - now too late) - I have HCC from hemochromotosis and not doing well - have been given 6 months to live so one can understand what I am going

Progress on clinical trial of immunotherapy and parp combo
Well I've been on the trial for 3 weeks now with minimal side effects - in fact I'm feeling better as the bowels are functioning much better, so hopefully that means the drugs are having an impact on the tumours. I won't know much until my next scan in early August but my CA125 is heading in the right

Neg Immunotherapy Qualification
My Oncologist just told me that I failed the PD01 and FISH tests following my submission of the latest biopsy on my liver. Now what? My Dr said that he didn't get the braca (?) portion done but will request it. Anyone know what that is? He also gave me a trial that could be available for me at Moffitt

? Very encouraging news! Think it will be applicable for us too?
