Hydroxycarbamide (esp 70+, diabetics)
As a result she will have to start (or will have started depending on when you read this) taking
hydroxycarbamide
tablets. Just keen to find out what others experiences of this are, particularly those who are 70+, and/or type 2 diabetic, and/or of indian heritage Thanks

My hubby has a MP disorder and is on
Hydroxycarbamide
+ Anagrelide plus other meds for diabetes. We have a letter from his consultant with a list of his meds but I wondered if we need to follow any other procedures/rules for bringing prescription meds into Tenerife.

Dealing with post-chemo/ET fatigue
Hi All - I was diagnosed with ET 8 months ago and am being treated with Hydroxyurea and aspirin. It's brought the platelet count down to almost normal, which is great. My biggest problem is wall-hitting fatigue. I went through chemo/radiation for breast cancer five years ago and thought I might be

Mental Tiredness and Anxiety
Six months later I am taking 1,000mg
Hydroxycarbamide
a day and my platelet count is nearly down to normal limits, without any of the potentially serious side effects.

I would like some advise please
Hello, I have been to see my doctor today. He wants me to think about changing my medication from Hydroxyurea to Anagrelide. He asked me to come on the group and search for information. I've done the search, the side affects have scared me. My doctor believes that Hydroxy is not helping me as I'm anaemic

PV and repeated infections
It is almost certainly the
hydroxycarbamide
that is reducing my resistance to infection. I have asked the haemo and my GP if they see any solution to this and there seems to be no answer other than to eat well. Can anyone tell me if they have a similar problem with infections like this..

Should I start taking Hydroxycarbamide?
Approaching the big 60 though, so preparing for
Hydroxycarbamide
prescription. I am fortunate that my platelet count is stable, and I seem to be asymptomatic. Has anyone declined taking Hydroxy at this stage, and adopted a 'wait and watch' policy on the platelet count?

Thoughts on starting Hyroxyurea? #'s 500-600 so far, but numbness in hands, and jawline/face?
Would love to get in input from others - as my HM team, seems to be unfamiliar with the updated data provided on the MPNResearch Foundation Page, NORD, and WHO. I was diagnosed in January, Jak2 positive, with numbers that have been above 400 for the last 5 years, but they didn't flag until this year

Manchester
Having being diagnosed with ET Jak 2 positive last August and only now come to terms with this uphill challenge, I would like to know if there is a support group in Manchester or in the North West, I had been on
Hydroxycarbamide
but due to mouth and gum problems I am now off it.

Newly Diagnosed (9/2017) with PV and ET
I'm newly diagnosed with both PV and ET and still learning about the symptoms and treatments. Once diagnosed, my hematologist asked that I participate in a study of MPNs being conducted at UNM (University of New Mexico) Cancer Center. My hematologist has been very careful with treatment, slowly increasing

From Pegasys to Hydroxycarbamide
From Pegasys to Hydrea (Hydroxyurea-
Hydroxycarbamide
) Hi !! I would love to hear from someone who has gone from using Pagasys --and to using Hydrea tablets. The side effects of Pegasys seem to be getting worse and worse. Could someone please tell me a little about how the Hydrea works on the body.

Was wondering if anybody with ET has had success with naturopathic help
Hi folks. Been on here a while, but never posted. Got diagnosed with Essential Thrombocytosis back in Nov 2017, and put on 1000mg of Hydroxyurea per day. At the time my platelet numbers were up over 1700, and WBC was 18. After a month, my dosage got increased to 1500mg per day, since my numbers came
