Eczema

GCA, Adrenal Insufficiency, and an Ice Cream Head.
I am 83 and was diagnozed with GCA in October 2019. I finished the course of prednisolone on the April 2021 without having had a flare up. In early January 2021 I had a successful left knee replacement. Unfortunately, no provision was made for my GCA during, or after, the major surgery. For 3 weeks

CMA slaps pharma firms with £260m in fines for hiking prices for NHS for hydrocortisone tablets.
This is about hiking the price of 'life saving' hydrocortisone tablets by over 10,000 per cent. Interestingly the two companies named here are Accored and Auden McKenzie which operated under the name Actavis UK in 2015. (Actavis UK was then bought by Accord Healthcare). The watchdog boss says, 'Our

UK drug companies fined £260m for inflating prices for NHS
First thing to note - this covers hydrocortisone - NOT liothyronine. However, the basis of de-branding, at least superficially, is extremely close to the liothyronine issues. Whilst £260 million is a lot of money - the NHS was over-paying by up to £80 million each year. I wonder how the totals costs

Wasp stings and PMR?
Well I’ll be everyone’s guinea pig with regards to wasp stings. This afternoon accidentally disturbed a hidden yellow jacket’s nest. Got stung 7 times before getting out of range. Above my lip, on my right thumb, three on my left bicep, one on my left tricep and one on my left side. Did all the usual

Sed rate has sky rocketed to an all out high
So my last sed rate was normal 3 months ago. And this time I asked my rheumatologist to check my sed rate and my CRP. The only results I've got back so far is my sed rate and it's 89! Normally it shouldn't be higher then 39. This is the highness it's ever been even at the beginning of my PMR diagnosis

Anyone got experience of rosacea versus lupus?

Follow up
So, just a follow up from my post 3 days ago. I continued to struggle so yesterday I went to A&E. I was very reluctant, as I've never done this before. I shouldn't have worried, as I received amazing care. I was seen immediately, with no waiting at all. I had several meds, including nebs and hydrocortisone

Sorry, this will likely turn into a rant, but as I'm still new to my (re)diagnosis (had asthma as a kid, it went away, it came back), I don't yet know what is normal. Last night I had a severe asthma attack, probably the worst one yet. Had to wait for over 5 hrs to even get obs done at which point I

Hello, I really appreciate your continuous sharing and supports since I joint this forum. We have many worries that we don't know who to ask, so we'll bother you again. His doctor asked him take Hydrocortisone 30mg/day (20mg in the morning and 10mg in the afternoon,) instead of Prednisone 10mg prescribed before. However, there is no info when

Long-term balanitis and regrets after biopsy
Hi all, I am 32 and I have balanitis (some inflamation only on the glans) for 5 or slightly more years. I am uncut. And things have always been alright for me. When it appeared for the first time I did all the possible test - everything was ok. At that point back then my immunologist and my urologist
