Comparison of systemic corticosteroids
This morning I accidently opened this site I'd bookmarked some time ago. As occasionally there are questions about the action of different medications I thought it would be of interest, although its focus is on treating skin conditions. It compares cortisone, hydrocortisone, prednisone, methylprednisolone

Pompholyx (dyshidrotic eczema) and potassium permanganate
I developed Pompholyx (dyshidrotic eczema) on my hands last year. It was diagnosed and the symptoms treated using hydrocortisone cream following doctor's instructions. It got better, but didn't completely go away. The hydrocortisone dried my skin out so much that it still hasn't fully recovered over

New Here
Hi, I am new to this group, I have spine of -3.9 and hips of -3.0. This was found in January 2021. I was prescribed Vitamin D 25mg to take daily for a year. I was tried on HRT but it gave me thrush in various female regions and horrific crippling migraines. It has now been stopped. I have quite a complex

Hi All Glad i found this forum. I'm 37 male uncircumcised. Long story short. When i was 18, i masturbated so much in one day that my foreskin got really red and sore ( i was probably feeling lonely) and was all cracked. After that, my foreskin became tighter than usual and started having issue to uncover

Insanely itchy!
Hi All Not sure it’s a coincidence or stress of going back to work but I’ve developed an insane itch on the right side of my torso, it’s really inflammed from my intermittent bouts of scratching when I can’t bear it any longer! My bottom lip seems to be dry (and craving a drink is the only way I can

Hydrocortisone
I have had PMR for 5 years , had a few flares but finally managed to reach 3 mg and was feeling fine. Last week I managed to pull a muscle around my rib area , weeding in the garden. It has been extremely painful ,disturbing my sleep. On top of this we have had a family funeral, so lots of stress. My

Looking for relief from itching that is keeping me up at night.
Hi, I have Stage 5 ESRD (GFR 12-15), and I have been on the transplant list for almost three years. I generally feel good and am able to tolerate 45 minutes of aerobic activity (swimming) 3-4 days per week. Recently (within the last few weeks), I started having itching at night that started to keep

Might I have Mastocytosis rather than MCAS?
Hi, I experienced a very strange phenomenon last night that I've never had before and it's made me question my diagnosis of MCAS. I had a reheated (pretty old!) home-made cauliflower cheese. I had had it the night before too and it had caused horrendous bloating, which I'm used to (I have IBS) but I

Can Abiraterone/Zytiga cause low blood sugar?
I’m diabetic and use an insulin pump. I’m on Abiraterone for about 5 months now, with hydrocortisone 10 mg per day to control Abiraterone side effects during PC treatment. Also took about 9 months Firmagon shots, but just switched to Lupron to preserve belly area for pump insulin insertion ports or continuous
