Adrenal cortisol expertise needed
Hi! I was diagnosed with adrenal fatigue / low cortisol 10-plus years ago and take 10 mg of hydrocortisone (tablet) in the morning and at noon. I just received results of diurnal saliva cortisol test and am surprised/confused at the results. Does this group help with adrenal issues, or is there a different

Update after cardiac catheterization.
First a BIG THANK YOU for all the advice and support. I felt you with me every step of the way. The catheterization showed no narrowing of the major cardiac arteries. But head cardiologist came and said all my symptoms were classic heart attack and clearly something was blocked...so i have a bucket

Ferritin and folate levels
I have pituitary failure and it's taken me almost 20years to get myself sorted. I take T3 in the form of Cytomel which is reluctantly prescribed by my local Endo but beyond that they are totally useless. I now see a specialist in Leicester who has got a better idea and I now have hydrocortisone, growth

Adrenal crisis or flare ?
Evening all, I've been a casual observer for many months now - my PMR was 'gone' (ie in remission/on holiday/not troubling me) and I had adjusted to Adrenal Insufficiency and a likely permanent dose of Hydrocortisone and Vitamin D. I recovered from a dose of covid about 3 weeks ago. On Saturday

Just got diagnosed
well after weeks if not months of having anti biotics steroid cream and given other diagnosis after diagnosis when my doctor talked about lymphoedema it all fell into place and made sense. my question is how do you all cope with the pain? I have a good pain threshold usually but if something or someone

Another iron IV/hydro post - been in hospital last night
Hey all,I had iron infusion on Monday. During it, I had anaphylactic shock (tight chest, couldn't breathe) and was injected with 100 mg hydrocortisone (thanks to this, they were able to finish the IV). I woke up on Tuesday morning feeling incredibly warm and with a lot of energy. My vision got sharper

14 year old son with tight foreskin, will he need surgery
My son recently told his dad that his foreskin doesn't retract. I think he was to embarrassed to talk to me. Took him to the doctors and was told to apply steroid cream and was told try gentle stretching. Went back a month later, and although the foreskin is less tight and now retracting it's not fully

Topical steroid & osteoporosis
Hi, I have severe osteoporosis as well as diffuse systemic sclerosis. I am having 6 monthly injections of denosumab. I also have chronic ulcers on feet which are being looked after by tissue viability. I have just finished a 2 week course of a strong topical steroid cream with this week off. The nurse

Thyroid, anemia, cortisol and fake menopause - iron IV on Monday
Hey everyone,I have been struggling recently with a lot of symptoms, mainly crushing fatigue to the point of dizziness and blurry vision. After years of trying different meds, it is now clear I don't tolerate meds because of other factors. I clearly need higher dose of thyroid meds, but they don't work

Sore perineum and vulvar
I have a pudendal nerve entrapment diagnosis of 8 years now but recently the pain from the anal area has now moved to my vaginal area causing really bad pain in vagina, vulva and perineum. I was given hormone cream to insert by gp as she thought it was menopausal symptoms. This didn't work. I revisited

Hi! I'm new here & relatively new to being hypothyroid too (Dec 2022) & I'm so glad I found this forum for help! Sorry for long description & awful pics, but I'm desperate now & need this lovely forum's opinions. I have searched the site for similar issue to my own too. Began on 50mcg Levothyroxine

Vaginal soreness
I am experiencing very sore vagina internal and externally around my vulva. I had thrush back in July and had a few repeat courses of the anti fungal treatment and also steroid cream but have had a recent retest for thrush which was negative and don't currently have itching. To be honest I wonder if

Hives and reducing pred
I’ve had terrible itchy hives on my arms, back, chest and neck for weeks now which is just not getting any better, it started from heat rash whilst on holiday in the summer. I’ve had a small amount of relief from antihistamines (Fexofenadine 180mg) and 2 weeks of Eumovate steroid cream and I’m slathering

Allergy to prednisolone?
Hi everyone I have severe asthma and was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency in 2020 after taking lots of Pred when Covid triggered my asthma. I was just left on 5mg Pred for two years with no endocrinology involvement. I was eventually transferred to an endocrinologist who tried me on hydrocortisone

Florinef Dosage
For those that require adrenal hormone replacement such as Hydrocortisone, Florinef and DHEA (I know most Endocrinologist do not even mention DHEA to their patients and say it unnecessary, as one does not need it to 'live', even though it is the most most abundant hormone in the human body, and studies

Chest Infection and Adrenal Insufficiency
So, I've had multiple hospital attendances recently due to this Chest Infection. Was put on antibiotics, but had an Asthma Exacerbation anyway so attended again as home nebulisers weren't enough. So asked if I should add Prednisolone on top of my Hydrocortisone. No one knows the answer. And I don't know

Are Toe sores part of Bechets?
Hi there, Does anyone else get little sores between toes and belive them to be part of Bechets? I saw a new Dr Rheumatologist today who thinks it more likely a fungal thing. She admitted to not having many or any other Bechets patients on her book. The sores sometimes look like a spot other times

Hi, I was diagnosed with secondary hypoadrenalism in 2018 by an endo. The ACTH was borderline and there was a flat response to the glucagon test. In the same year I paid for a saliva test which showed the level of cortisol to be ok. So I only have to take oral hydrocortisone if I’m having surgery, in
