I hope someone can help me. I was diagnosed with MCAS in 2015 at Guys and St Thomas then discharged when the drugs started to work. I’ve been in and out of hospital for chronic IC and unexplained gallbladder inflammation which was extremely painful on numerous occasions. Every time I go in I end up

Prednisone to Hydrocortisone
My last visit to my rheumatologist she recommended I see an endocrinologist because my most recent Dexa scan (2022) hadn’t improved from my last one (2020). My Dexa scans say osteopenia but my rheumatologist looks at the reports and there’s some other formula that brings me into osteoporosis. So she

VERTEBROPLASTY OP WENT FINE - SO FAR, SO GOOD
I did not have the luxury of asking anesthesiologist about Pred dose as there wasn't one present. I was awake for the entire procedure and op nurse administered an opioid and a medication when I requested it. Very relaxed but not "high". Also an antibiotic was included and I now have the same one at

Morphea treatment - PUVA or triamcinolone injections?
hello, looking for a bit of advice as I was diagnosed with Morphea a few months ago. I’m under the care of dermatology department. It affects my whole left arm, part of my rib cage and some of my right arm. The worst area is around my left wrist where the skin is particularly tight around the joint

Itching due to medication??
Hello, I had a liver transplant 3 years ago and take tacrolimus, mycophenolate and prednisone for anti rejection. I have recently had a very itchy localised rash on my neck which I have been treating with hydrocortisone cream. This is having no effect. I was wondering if it could be a reaction to any

VETEBRAL PLASTY SURGERY FINALLY SCHED FOR NEXT WEEK
At long last. Vetebral surgery scheduled for Sept. 21.
PMRPRo,
can you please tell me about hydrocortisone cover (during surgery) and doubling up on regular Pred for a couple of days afterward? This, so I can sound intelligent when the Nurse calls. Lol. It is a local anesthetic, not being put

Surgery and PMR dose
Hello. I’m due to have surgery in 10 days time for a couple of hernia repairs. I am currently in the second week of reducing Prednisolone from 2mg to 1.5mg, over a five week period. At the time of starting the taper, I didn’t know of the confirmed operation date. So, should I continue the reduction

red inflamed area around my eye
hi there, I use Latanoprost and Dorzolamide eye drops following a closed angle glaucoma last year. Recently the area around my eye has become very red and inflamed and itchy. Has this happened to anyone else? My doctor gave me steroid cream which has helped a bit. Thanks

Hydrocortisone usage.
hi, I’ve had balanitis and was prescribed a hydrocortisone. Since then it has come back and I’ve used the cream twice when it came back. Last time was two weeks ago and the balanitis is back. How often can I use the cream? Concerned about warnings of thinning skin. I’m due to go away on Saturday

Nervous changing from Prednisolone to Hydrocortisone
I have been on prednisolone for about 6 years and was down to 4.5mg but not feeling great with general pain so upped it to 5mg. Adrenal gland isn’t working so I doubt if I can get off steroids entirely anytime soon. Anyway spoke to my Endocrinologist the other day and we discussed trying Hydrocortisone

Balanitis healed with Circumcision???
I have been dealing with balanitis for a couple of months now. It has been very challenging. Intimacy came to a complete stop. After seeing 2 dermatologists and 3 doctors, to include a Urologist, I am almost certain that I will have to get a circumcision. The Urologist recommended it after a brief exam

Turkey OTC
👋 hope this is allowed. Wanted to ask if anyone here is from/lives in Turkey. How easy/is it possible to purchase hydrocortisone over the counter? (I am already on HC from my NHS endo but ones I had from Turkey are the only ones that don’t give me severe gastro issues so I’m thinking I need to

Has anyone developed Lichen Sclerosus after pelvic radiotherapy?
I was recently diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosus in the genital area. I had chemoradiotherapy 14 years ago for SCC rectum. The cause of LS is not known though trauma to the skin is thought to be one contributory factor. I am extremely worried about this recent development as LS is associated with the development

hydrocortisone tablets and asthma
Hello I have adrenal insufficiency and my endocrinologist wants me to switch from 5mg Pred a day to Hydrocortisone tablets. I have severe asthma but the 5mg Pred is just for the AI. Although I feel miles better on HC - I feel very sluggish and tired on Pred - I've tried two different brands of HC tablets

Phimosis
Hi all, I’ve had phimosis since I was a teenager due to a scar on my penis. I’m able to retract it completely normally with no problems when flaccid. I can also fully retract it when erect, although it takes a fair bit of resistance and is uncomfortable when retracting, making sex uncomfortable. I’

rash for 5 months now
hi I’ve had an all over body rash the past 5 months and dermatologist is convinced is because of a virus. No signs of it improving. I’m so worn out with it now. Antihistamines are doing nothing and neither is the steroid cream. Please give some advice what else this could be. They are flat pink spots
