Rash uncontrollable
I have had this horrific rash since 5/24, which started with bump on my back that itched badly and frank said looked like a spider bite. It spread to shingle type blisters in a vertical line by 4 days. Primary doc said some kind of virus and have me steroid cream. Got worse, spread to legs. Doc took

Hydrocortisone....now on 1mg Pred..........
Well, I am in my second week of the 'new regime', which is Hydrocortisone. I have gone from 2mg Pred, to, currently, 1 mg, with total stopping of Pred, next Wed, and only HC. It hasn't been a smooth ride...is it ever? Side-effects are stomach probs, and feeling like a kangaroo, carrying her joey! No

Just been diagnosed with Hypothyroid
Hi I'm new here. Dr diagnosed me a few weeks ago after initially going with a strange spot rash on arms and legs and backside area. After several blood tests and a urine test was told I was B12 deficient and also had an underactive thyroid which he added was quite low. Started to get worried now

What do I have? Wish I could find out!
In September I thought I had a bug bite on my right ankle. By October this rash was all over my body from my neck down. Itching was so very intense. It kept me up at night, would bleed from scratching. I thought at first perhaps it was an allergic reaction to soap, shampoo, food. I tried very over

I'm wondering how many people with CLL is getting rashes on their shins of their legs, whether their treatment was with FCR or inbru? I've been in remission for almost 10 years now and have been battling this rash for almost all of it. I would love to get anyone's feed back since my 6 month checkup is

Hypothyroidism or secondary hypothyroidism or CFS/ME?!
Hello everyone, I often browse this forum but have never posted labs before. I have a diagnosis of CFS/ME and have done since 2007. Done lots of digging of my own to get to the bottom of this diagnosis and I've concluded that the cause of it, is thyroid and adrenal problems. I'm going to post my lab

Circadian rhythm misalignment in people with adrenal insufficiency
It's been quiet here. Everyone must be enjoying the summer. We certainly are. My wife and I have a few big events coming up in the next few weeks - a wedding for one of my brothers, and a wedding for my best friend. My wife's parents and sister are coming over this weekend to help us paint our baby's

synacthen test..............results.............horrified
This morning I received a bulky letter from the Consultant Physician for Endocrinology. As the results are above me, perhaps PMRpro. and others, would elaborate.'confirmation that your body is not producing enough cortisol with a baseline of 85 and peak of 140.4(IDEALLY SHOULD BE MORE THAN 150)'. It's a real bugger!
After two years I'm down to 3mg p d and now I'm truly struggling! Rheumy says my adrenal glands have shut down so I need a cortisol test and probable hydrocortisone therapy before any further tapering. It really is a bugger, and depressing, I had begun to think I'd soon be of the pred for good - home

Take hydrocortisone and adrenal cortex together?
To give my adrenals a rest I am planning on taking 1 x day 5mcg of hydrocortisone for 2 weeks, then 10mg x day for for 2 weeks.. Then follow with Thorne Adrenal Cortex to help restore/support adrenals. Or should I start the adrenal cortex at the same time as the hydrocortisone?

I cured 2 separate outbreaks of eczema, and drastically reduced the severe itching without using any medicines/lotions.
At age 65 I had two strips of eczema approx. 3 inches long and an inch wide that ran parallel along my lower stomach just above my right thigh. which did not respond to hydrocortisone treatment. One day, whilst eating a kiwi fruit I smeared the inside juicy part of the skin along half of the top

Endo kicked me out...
So I finally had an appointmemt with an endocrinologist at the Charité in Berlin, a huge and highly regarded cluster of teaching and research clinics. At the first meeting he told me to stop limiting carbs (diabetes in family, very high blood sugar levels after eating small amount of carbs) , he'll prescribe

one year off Ibrutinib. Still well....
Just had 4 month check up and I remain well almost a year after abandoning Ibrutinib due to painful side effects. (See previous posts) My WBC is 16.23. Lymphocytes 74.6% (which seem to interest the medics more than the WBC now...) I may not need treatment for months or years. i.e. they have no idea

Losing weight after finishing steroids - is it possible?
It looks like I'm finally off steroids. It's been a long story of yo-yoing over nearly 5 years. I was switched to Hydrocortisone a few months ago and have now tapered to zero. Cortisol levels are back up to normal and looks like adrenals working again OK. Some pain and stiffness has come back, particularly

Help..please.
I am wandering around my house at a snails pace today. Don't know what to do and would love some advice if anyone has time. Am in so much pain that I don't know what to do with myself. Sjorgrens/SLE overlap, adrenal autoantibodies, Hashimoto's, blood tests always show anaemia...etc, etc. I don't seem

Update on seeing new auto-immune interest G.P.
Following on from my previous post about not feeling right, despite being on B12 jabs for 6 months after my P.A. diagnosis, and wanting someone to listen and not tell me that I was just stressed and depressed. I think I've found a half decent G.P. at last. He listened to me, gave me a head to toe exam

Some info on cortisol.
Read an interesting article today, thought I'd post basics. Link at the bottom for whole article. *Must get results from Saliva testing not blood. High cortisol can block the conversion of T4 to T3, favoring conversion to RT3 and putting you further into a hypothyroid state. Both high cortisol and low
