Recent diagnosis
Hello all, I was diagnosed almost 3 weeks ago. I think I may have been misdiagnosed for the past 5 years. I have been told I have gout because of my swollen feet. Most recently my feet, ankles, knees, and hands swelled at the same time. My doctor continued to say gout although my uric acid levels

Weird pain in toe
Hi - this is a weird one, but maybe somebody else has experienced it. I have been kept awake all night by a stabbing pain in the ball of my big toe. It is like a red hot needle being pushed into it and happens every couple of minutes or so. It is incredibly painful. There is nothing really to see

Knocked for Six with Change from Actavis to Eltroxin (Aspen). Is it the excipients or 'potency?'
I have been doing well on 225 - 250mcg of the Actavis levothyroxine. Despite this, my GP 'believes' this dose is too high, so altered my prescription to only 50mcg!! So I bought some levothyroxine online, it's Eltroxin by the Aspen Group, New Zealand. My first identical dose of 250mcg on Thursday

It wasn't Cellulitis but Gout, who else has this?
Update on foot gate…Cellulitis it was not. Day 10 of double strength antibiotics not touching the infection I decided to go back to the G.P. Surgery to get another opinion, the antibiotics were really getting to me, making me feel ill/low mood and antagonising my hernia. Yesterday another G.P.

Take Phyllocontin tablet, morning and night. Last night I had tremendous cramping of legs and toes. Lasted about three hours. Every time I thought oh good it's away, it came back. Testicle hit by fast tennis ball.
Hello, I got hit by a tennis ball on my right testicle and it got swollen, my urologist gave me Brufen and some basic medicin. It's been 40 days now, the pain is reduced by 90% but I can feel the tube coming down to my testicle is stiff and swollen, it hurts if I touch it or pinch it! and also my testicle

PAF and lying down
Why does my PAF (probably vagal) so often start when I get into bed - sometimes I've hardly lain down and off it goes. I sleep on my right side as I've heard that is usually better for AF sufferers. It lasts for typically up to 2 hrs. I've had one catheter ablation (June 2015) which improved things enormously

Hello My husband will be starting CAPD at the beginning of July and then moving on to APD. We were told today that we will need to buy a trolley to keep the machine on - does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks Annie

JIA Painting Competition
I was thrilled to be asked to judge this competition, held at the Evelina Children's Hospital, next to St Thomas's in Lambeth. I found time to say a few words (positive of course) about each entrant and then announced the winners in the two age groups. Firstly, the older group. This was a tough one

natural ways to lower high levels of urid acid...?
My doctor put me on prescription drug Zyloric a couple of months ago, after my uric acid levels turned out to be too high. However, I have not (and have never had) any symptoms or signs of gout. I am wondering if there are any supplements that you could use to naturally lower uric acid levels, without
