Trolley for dialysis machine

Hello

My husband will be starting CAPD at the beginning of July and then moving on to APD. We were told today that we will need to buy a trolley to keep the machine on - does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

Annie

Try your local catering people - they may have trolleys similar to what you need

Hello Annie,

The trolley I needed for CAPD and APD was supplied along with all the other gear required via my hospital kidney unit. However that was 20 years ago so perhaps things have changed. Worth asking though.

Hi Annie, the machine will sit nicely on a a chest of draws about twice the width of the machine for the bags to sit.

The chest of crawers will also store a lot of your smaller supplies such as minicaps, connection shields etc.

If the bedroom where you intend to use it is next to the bathroom, put a small hole through and ask for drain extensions and the drains can go straight down which saves a messy job if you have to use drain bags.

I was on PD, both machine and manual for nearly 6 years before I had to go to Haemo 3 months ago because of recurring peritonitis. I am now looking at the possibility of home haemo dialysis.

I bought my trolley from Amazon and then bought a couple of hooks from B&Q to hang the bags. Works pretty well for me.
