Eliquis & low platelets
I have been taking Eliquis for 9 months, and my platelets have dropped from 150,000 to 118,000. I believe the norm is 150,000 to 400,000. I am waiting to see my EP after my 2nd ablation. Should I be concerned with the drop? Thank you !

Monoamine oxidase.
New study below [1]. Don't be turned off by the title. The botton line is that a drug used as an anti-depressant might have a profound impact on PCa progression. Monoamine oxidase [MAO] is an enzyme family with two members. The new paper is concerned with MAO-A, which breaks down serotonin, melatonin

PMR or osteoarthritis?
Can PMR damage joints? My knees had been stiff and swollen (especially the left) for the past year, and my doctor removed some fluid to have labs done last week; also took x-rays of both knees. There was inflammation, of course, but also crystals indicating something called Pseudogout. My x-rays showed

B1/Thiamin - What's the situation?
Sorry - I've tried searching but there are so many posts with just a mention in passing its hard to wade through to the facts - I just wanted to get a summary of what the thinking is behind taking this supplement. At present I'm on 3 x 100/25 Madopar pd and 1mg Rasagiline. I often don't take the full

Anyone taking Coumadin?
Most docs now prescribe Pradaxa, Xerelto or Eliquis, but Coumadin is still the safest in terms of reversal in the case of bleeds. I understand the convenience of the newer drugs -- big Pharm has spared no money telling us this -- but wondering if anyone taking Coumadin could tell me how much of a bother

BISOPROLOL
Hi everyone, I have been having a debate with my pharmacist regarding Bisoprolol. Certain manufacturers, like Sandoz and Bayer have the active ingredient Bisoprolol Fumarate. However, the one that suits me is produced by Merck (is called Cardicor), and has the active ingredient Bisoprolol Hemifumarate

Penile Shortening after Radical Prostatectomy, with video.
This is a follow-on from: EricE's: "Radical Prostectomy and Penis Growth?" Not to be confused with loss of function & the need for "rehabilitation". Looking at the studies, one is struck by the seeming indifference to the problem. Men must have been complaining of the issue, or at least remarking on

Canestest false positive results
Has anyone used self-test (Canestest) for vaginal infections and had false positive results? I have been treated with antibiotics for kidney infection and going by urine testing this has cleared up. I did the self-test and I could feel a sore area at top left of vagina. The tester turned blue which suggests
