Confused by cardiologists arguing over the role of cholesterol in causing cardiovascular disease?
Sometimes I feel very confused by some cardiologists debunking the role of cholesterol in cardiovascular disease. Just came across this well balanced and very informative article. http://wp.me/p2urWY-ow

24 hour Urine collection.
I have CKD stage4/5. I have just had a Fistula made a couple of weeks ago but getting different opinions from the doctors. Kidney function is 15%. Now, I am told because I am only 4.11 tall or short, My readings may not be accurate due to less muscle mass than a taller person. I now need to do a 24 hour

Travelling by Car with Oxygen Cylinders, is there any restrictions on the amount you can carry in a vehicle.
Hi, i have recently posted on another thread about getting out and about more, maybe for a short holiday. I suffer from Neurofibramatosis and Pulmonary Hypertension, and therefore require 12 litres of oxygen per minute 24 hours a day. We would like to know if there are any restrictions etc on carrying

Please see my question below
My cholesterol is 7.6 at the last reading, it has continued to rise slowly over recent years in spite of my eating a sensible low fat diet, my bmi is 23 and I exercise regularly. My GP has said not to have any further cholesterol checks (unless I have to stop exercising for any reason or gain weight

Thinking of discharging myself from lipid clinic
Due to go to the clinic in April, but I am seriously thinking of not going as it seems so pointless. I know exactly what will happen, they will take my blood pressure, weigh me and then I will be given a lecture on taking statins which I am refusing to take because of bad side effects. My condition

Did anyone see article in Evening Standard on 2 January : The Constant Dieter written by Lucy Cavendish?
This article on dieting suggests that the Intermittent Fasting Diet 'has been proven by the Horizon TV programme to reduce weight...and to bring down cholesterol levels'. I could not resist a comment: Lowering cholesterol levels is one thing and keeping the level down is another. The Horizon reporter

How to control your Diabetes.
It has also been found that diabetes decreases and may even disappear in people eating a
high
fiber

diet.
High
fiber
diet has more chromium and chromium is very good for people with diabetes.

Anyone with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) and APS that started with high hypertension?
After I started Warfarin my hypertension has normalized. I have had a PAH-pressure of 50 the last two years. No breathlessness. Waiting for a heartcateterization (?). Any thoughts? have you had the same?

Connection Between Hypothyroidism and High Cholesterol?
Although I have a good diet, and am not overweight, without meds my cholesterol is high. One GP tells me there is no connection between an underactive thyroid and high cholesterol, another says there is. Since April of this year I have been on Atorvastatin, until I read the leaflet which tells me
