Sick of my reflection

So here it is, i'm 31 years old and in all those years i can't ever remember feeling anything but disgusted with what i see when i look in the mirror. I lost 6 &1/2 stone a few years ago but as always i've put 1 & 1/2 stone back on, i'm fit & healthy i walk miles every week, go to the gym strength training atleast 3 times per week, & i have a cross trainer at home that i use if the weather is too bad to get out running (i graduated c25k last year). But i'm still overweight and i'm so fed up with it. It makes me feel so worthless and ugly and i don't want to waste another minute feeling so bad about myself.

So i'm giving it another go, i need to lose the stone & a 1/2 i've regained i'd like to lose nearer 3 stone. Good luck to everyone who is setting out on their weightloss journey, & i hope you all acheive your dreams. As for me i know i'm in for yet another hard slog but if i eventually get to a point where the face in the mirror smiles back at me it will all have been worth it.

It's a bit of a glass half empty, or half full, thing isn't it?

O.K. if you've put back on 1.5 stone then you're still 5 stone in credit. And, more than that, it proves to you that you CAN lose weight if you put your mind to it and persevere.

There's lots of excellent - and free - advice and information on the NHS live well lose weight pages, including this free weight loss plan - nhs.uk/LiveWell/weight-loss...

And lots of stuff on these blogs and questions

Come on, just get on board that weight loss bus and try to enjoy the journey. I'm only three and a bit weeks in and I already feel a lot better than when I started. O.K. - I've still got 20 kilos to lose. I'm working on it.

Good luck.

well done for loosing that weight so you put a stone and a half back on so what you have proved you can loose the weight. Maybe finding something new to try exercise wise to bring the fun back in.

I know how you feel I feel the same too, I lack motivation to diet at the moment.

But you must give yourself a pat on the back for keeping off the 5 stone............no matter what that is a fantastic!!!

I read a comment on a weight loss blog recently that I think fits the bill here...'you wouldn't tell your best friend they were fat and ugly so why tell yourself? You are doing all the right things so please don't beat yourself up so much, think positively, you have lost an amazing amount of weight already and you can so the rest. Be proud of your achievement and count this as the start of a new journey, good luck!
