Fibrotest-actitest panel
3 years ago I was diagnosed with cirrhosis 4 with advanced fatty liver. This was determined by blood test and fibroscan. I went for 2nd opinion, new doctor didn't believe I had cirrhosis so suggested biopsy which showed Stage 1 mild fibrosis with mild fatty liver zone 3. This Doctor also did not believe

Over-medicated (Levothyroxine)?
Hello, I wondered if someone could help me? Apologies for posting lots of results below, but I thought it might help with context. I have just received my latest NHS results and I think I may be over-medicated still? Interestingly, I had a dose reduction 6 weeks ago and although my FT4 has reduced,

Starting Pegasys
hi all, I’m about to start the next stage of my treatment journey, 45mg Pegasys fortnightly. I’ve picked up the meds and just waiting for my remaining blood tests to come back before I start. I’ll update this thread over the next 12 months with various updates from how the first injection went and

5 weeks pregnant with bleeding and cramps
hello, as usual just looking for a little reassurance.. although pretty sure it’s game over for me! For background, I had a chemical pregnancy with my first transfer (starting hcg 60) and so was delighted when my hcg reading was 577 for this FET. I’m now at 5 weeks and had very subtle brown spotting

Forgot to mention in my last post that results from the blood test for my Thyroid ie TSH and FT4 came back as abnormal meaning they were outside the reference range so have had to have my thyroxine medication increased, so decrease of prednisolone and Thyroid levels not being ideal could be reason I

1mg enteric coated Pred? Efficacy?
Hi , wondering if anyone can throw light on this. Im currently on 8mg enteric coated Pred having reduced from 70 mg back in Jan '23. Seem to be doing OK, so far. In order to make up my 8mg dose I have 1 x 5mg plus 3 x 1mg - all enteric coated. There is some scepticism amongst a few of the NHS docs

Know a good Rheumy in York or EA/London area?
I’m asking for someone who has been sent packing by the private doctor seen on their work’s health plan. 45 year old male, never been ill, with sudden onset hand and feet pain, shoulders, neck and backs of knees with tinnitus on January after Covid. Worse in the morning, occasionally waking him up,

Steroid sparing - or maybe not?
I'd be very grateful for any advice or experience that others can share about the decision to embark on steroid sparing with methotrexate. This has just been recommended by my rheumatology nurse and, following her explanation of the process I have some concerns. I started GCA headaches in January 2022

Elevated thyroid peroxidase antibodies and feeling very tired 😴
Hi all, I am 51 and take 50mg levothyroxine daily and have been since July last year. I was feeling tired and sluggish and my bloods were tested and had TSH above 5. I was put on 50mg last year. I have had a private blood test done last week and the results are in the photo. My TSH is now 3.76 and I

When We Have CLL, Why We Need Particularly need an Immunome. (Why neutrophil and immunoglobulin counts don't measure immunity all that well)
What if our doctors could recommend IgG replacement therapy (IGIV or subcutaneous IgG)
before
we became seriously ill, preventing that risk to our health, even our life? Or proactively recommend vaccination boosters or prophylactic antibiotics or antivirals? This is what a CLL specific

Abnormal Nrbc and liver platlet results
Hi, I've been on both methotrexate 20mg and hydrochloride 200mg for years now and bar the odd flare up, they have been controlling my RA but my last blood test came back with this so I'm worried that it is now effecting my liver or worse. Anybody had these kind of results before?

How long do reserves last?
I stopped self injecting Dec2021 as my level was way over the top score in my blood test. I was OK until the last few months. Does this mean my reserves are used up, as I have been sleeping 12 hours a night and my feet have got more numb. My level was OK last year. I haven't been tested for B12 since

B12 how much and how often
I’ve been struggling with PA for 2 and 1/2 years. No one would listen. Finally from Israel I was advised to get the Intrinsic Factor Antibody Blood Test and the Parietal Cell Antibody Blood Test. Pernicious Anemia. I have to take a shot of Methylcobalamin daily. The Israelis recommend taking a shot

Can anyone explain
Hi,On Tuesday of this week I was out with my husband having a relaxing drive to the beach. I began to feel uncomfortable. I had a pain in the middle of my stomach above my belly button. My ribcage felt like it was being crushed. I had to undo my bra to try and relieve some of the pressure. We stopped

Cardiac surgery meds bring PSA down?
My PSA was 1.6 on January 8 of this year. On January 31st I had successful open-heart surgery to repair a heart valve. On March 7th, my next blood test, my PSA had dropped to .5. Has anyone here heard that this sort of drop after surgery is normal? Perhaps there are meds used at that time that could
