Blood Test Rip-off
I've received an email from privatebloodtests.co.uk which is part of Blue Horizon. They offer traditional blood tests at astronomic prices. No doubt they will have 'offers' but my view is that we should, when possible, boycott these companies. There is great temptation to see more blood tests as better

Hello!
Hey folks, Not entirely sure where to start here, first post. - I recently had a cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) due to some on-going issues which were identified as gallstones. - During this, and also backed up by biopsy/blood tests it seems I have some issues going on with my liver L3 fibrosis

Serum Free T4 level high
I have hypothyroididm and have had it for years. I used to medicate myself, but can no longer afford to do so. I am now taking 100 ml of levothyroxine. I now seem to hae a problem with high blood pressure, hot flushes and what I call adrenalin punches in the stomach. I would not say I was ill,

Hair loss, and other symptoms
Hi there, I’m a 48 year old female, with some concerning symptoms. Extreme hair loss, tiredness, depression to name a few. Blood tests came back with 2.14 TSH, 13.1 plasma free T4 level. Is this enough to cause these symptoms?

Monitor my Health results , or lack of them!
Wonder if anyone else has had this ( or got prof.expertise to advise), did the Full Health Screen blood test from the NHS lab so I’d be well equipped to have phone appointment with GP next week re. Thyroid and vit/ min levels, and they only did 2 tests ( HbA1c and cholesterol) others said ‘not enough

Over reactive 1st Obin Treatment.
First dose of 100 mcg July 8th and 900 mcg July 9th. After treatment never came back to feeling 90-100%. This past Tuesday returned for round 2. Never made it out of blood draw room due to high heart rate. Got admitted and higher than normal heart rate 120-130. Blood pressure dropped 89/40. Extreme

It never rains but it pours. I spent all day Friday at A&E with a suspected heart attack. The pain woke me up at 5am and because I’d had this a couple of times before and the thought of a day in A&E, I had 7.5mls morphine and 2 paracetamol and actually slept for another couple of hours. It actually got

Should I chase this?
I wrote in another post but didn't get a response so trying again. I'm female late 50s, non smoker, v little alcohol, not overweight but have had a lot of stressful situations to deal with for the last 30 years. I got an ultrasound due to right rib pain which showed -liver slightly enlarged, echo bright

Sorry if this is a daft question, but how do you know if your adrenals are starting to do their job? I am reducing slowly and am currently on 4mg Prednisilone. I am really struggling with fatigue and breathlessness but apart from my arthritic knees, no more pain than expected. Because of recent blood

DIO2 and DIO1 results from ancestry
I thought it was more clear cut when I did this test but on reading more the wise ones on here point out it is not black and white and only a guide more potential for conversion issues. Shoot me down if I am wrong ... would welcome comments. For DIO2 - 1 of my results is mutated - more likely a poor

Is this a flare?
Morning everyone. Would appreciate opinions/advice. I’ve almost finished a long taper to 5.5mg after 6 years. About a week ago I felt pain in left hip on getting out of bed (an uncomfortable guest bed actually) which wore off quickly when I got moving. Over the week since being home its got gradually

A lot to learn!
Hi everyone. I’m very new to this and could do with a bit of help as I feel there’s a lot to learn and I want to be able to help myself. Earlier this year I realised I had a swelling on the front of my neck. I was put on the cancer pathway and following an ultrasound was told it was a benign cyst but
