Over the years we have had several members report having Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Yet little has been known or understood about this disorder. Just now, I noticed this paper, and thought it worth mentioning previous posters.

I have bipolar 2, depression, anxiety, hidradenitis suppurativa (an autoimmune disorder that includes painful bumps similar to acne but much worse), interstitial cystitis (overactive bladder with 40+ trips to the bathroom a day and also includes chronic infections).

At A&E the doctor who treated me, saw the abscess and found another growing, suggested I see a dermatologist for hidradenitis and that he would write my GP. My blood test come back showing liver damage, after I have my cast done they send me home.

I have been suffering with Hidradenitis Suppurativa for 16 years now. It has gotten to the point where it is extremely painful and I am on 3600mg of Gabapentin a day and it is not helping in the slightest.

I have been diagnosed with IBS, joint pain, fatigue, migraines, anxiety/ depression, hidradenitis suppurativa and pelvic pain. Just had laparoscopy for pelvic pain but they didn’t find anything. Does anybody else have these health issues too? Just feeling rather unfixable.....

Is there a connection between thyroid disease and hidradenitis supperativa?

Again, I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I also have HS (Hidradenitis suppurativa), another autoimmune disease, how many autoimmune diseases can a person have? My mother also has lupus, an autoimmune disease I am aware hashimoto's for example, can progress onto.

Hi, I recently got a pretty dismissive diagnosis in December of Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

I also developed hidradenitis suppurativa under my arms and some flair up in my groin. I apologize, but it's been a fucking ride. I needed to have foot surgery last year and just had rotator cuff surgery in the beginning of February.

Hello, I have just been diagnosed with hidradenitis suppurativa and I have been put on a course of injections with a drug called humira, can I get some feed back from anyone that knows about humira or also taking it ...thanks

I am 63 and have suffered with HS since I was 17. I have outbreaks in the groin area. My dermatologist recommended 2 washes to use on a daily basis when showering. One is called 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, and the other is Hibiclens Antiseptic Antimicrobial Skin Liquid Soap. This has worked well for me.

I've been suffering with hidradenitis suppurativa for going on 4 years now. I've been given many medications but nothing has worked for me. I experience severe pain every month. But since I'm just 31 years of age I guess I'll face this problem for the rest of my life.
