After getting so much help from here from you lovely people I have been on a good 3 to 4 week routine of upping my vitamins and supplements. It took me a good amount of time and advise off here to make sure of what vitamins to get and take etc etc. So I was happy and hopeful.
Believe it or not this post isn't about vitamins.
Years before my thyroid crashed I started suffering with continuous UTI'S.
I also had quite a long time of being in excruciating pain with hidradenitis suppurativa
And terrible pain with diagnosed fibromylagia
Don't know if any of these are linked to hormone/thyroid issues but believe it or not this post isn't about any of those.
GALLSTONES:
So yes, had my first terrible attack of gallstones years ago when pregnant. Linked to pregnancy. So hormonal.
I did suffer quite a few of these attacks but it went quiet for some time.
I never did have it taken out for one reason or another but it has been grumbling again for a week or so.
Do others have gallbladder issues?
I know I should probably have it out because I have had 2 rounds of antibiotics over the years for cholecystitis and have had pancreatitis once.
So, just get my vitamins sorted out and now my gallbladder is playing up. I will definitely get this sorted now to have the operation (even though it scares the life out of me) Yes I have a phobia of general anaesthetic and so has been a big reason over the years not to take the plunge. Stupid I know. I have to get over this phobia and am trying hard to get this phobia under control but in the mean time please, can anyone recommend anything which helps with gallbladder issues.
My diet over the years has been a huge factor to help it and hinder it. I know usually what starts it off so avoid it. but am very interested what people may recommend which help with gallbladder issues.
Hopefully it isn't another round of cholecystitis starting. I will know soon enough
Thank you for reading this post
Be very interested to see what people might say.

Sorry, you haven’t had any replies. Unfortunately I think your problems are not ones that are familiar to people on this forum. Maybe there is another forum on Health Unlocked that might suit your query better. You could try searching Health Unlocked generally for gallbladder issues?
Thank you for replying to me though.I guess because of the metabolic syndrome linked with thyroid (basically cholesterol) I've always assumed there was the link there too with gallstones. Thought maybe other thyroid patients have experienced it.
It’s wonderful how we can talk ourselves into “My diet over the years has been a huge factor to help it and hinder it”. Honestly Demitria it’s my sense that thyroid issues are often at the bottom of this - way before we become aware that we have thyroid issues. It takes years in some people for them to show and finally be diagnosed. Gall bladder issues are often associated with thyroid issues. Off course diet can make some difference but …..
If you have thyroid issues (or suspect you have) perhaps give yourself a chance to get those sorted out before you make the decision about the op..
Thank you for your reply. Appreciated. Yes, I personally feel that my thyroid was beginning to fail 20 years ago. Very slow. Last pregnancy just blew it all up and with a few years of my last child being born, thyroid crashed and everything exacerbated.
Funnily enough though, been menopausal for several years. Am now at the beginning of HRT journey. Since my FSH came back abnormal high (according to doctor am at the last stages of menopause) my gallbladder has started up again. Hormone linked again 😔
So with any luck once my HRT kicks in my hormone levels might settle and gallbladder might too again. But, I've ready how HRT can cause gallbladder issues 🤪
My gallbladder started to ache about a week before I started HRT, so I know it isn't the HRT
An interesting thought, but it does seem that the thyroid underpins almost every function in the body! I had the offer to have my aortic artery scanned some years ago, no issues in that area, but if it's free.... anyway, the aortic artery was fine, but the GP said, you have a gallstone, but you don't need to do anything unless it plays up! Almost a year to the day-it did just that! After treatment to calm it down had surgery-amazing! One tiny-1 centimetre- little wound just below my sternum, that's all! I have been fine since. At the check up afterwards, I said to the surgeon-a big Greek guy with fingers like bananas-how did you do that? and he said with a smile-skill!! These days, GA is nothing like it used to be-no premed-unless you want something, but really, nothing to worry about-these guys are doing it every day, and are so skilled, you wake up before you realise you're relaxed and its all over!
Thanks for your reply, however for me my gallbladder when scanned years ago showed a 2.5 cm gallstone and sludge. Can you imagine what it's like now... eek.
I have to have a liver blood test next week and I will ask for an up to date gallbladder scan. I would be looking at being cut if I'm still "too overweight' but if it can be done through keyhole then that's great.
It isn't the procedure for me, my phobia is general aneasthetic. I feel so stupid about it, I really do
Well, I didn't fit the criteria-the four 'F's- fair, fat, forty and female-I was ok, bleach blonde female, middling weight and 57, but it happens! Good luck, you can manage really well without a gall bladder and the risk of that horrendous pain when it strikes! Voice your fears and be reassured!
Apparently a scan showed I have several gall stones but nothing was done. They dont bother me (yet). I am fair, female, 10stone and 5ft 7, and nearly double 40, so dont know why I have them. My GP said my cholesterol was high, but it was not even over the bottom of the range, wanted me to have statins. Firm NO from me, so I suggested a small raise in thyroid meds. That scared him enough to dismiss me without any further discussion!
Its all linked, T3 in every cell in your body, but the medical profession seem not to think about that!
