Do you need to avoid vitamin K food on fragmin?
Hi All After 2 years on warfarin, I asked to for my drugs to be reviewed as I had spent 5 months feeling very unwell (INR unstable). I am now on fragmin and feel almost like my old self! I spent 2 years being extremely careful with high vitamin k food (as it would seriously affect my inr) Do I have to

Counting down days to specialist appointment
I go to my specialist on 3/18. I know I won't have any major answers that day, but I'm still hoping he will give me an idea about things. I know I will probably need a biopsy, as my ana being high as well has caused them some pause to see if I have overlap syndromes, or its just from the PBC. I guess

MEN - be careful of selenium
I have stated many times that I consider 200 mcg to be too much selenium on a long-term basis. I have long thought that 100 mcg or less is probably going to deliver all the benefits anyone could expect, and selenium is well-known to be toxic in even moderate excess. (Though it is quite possible that

Hi all. I have just had a liver biopsy to confirm pbc. But it has come back with a possibility of hepatitis. I have to have a second opinion
I still have all the symptoms of pbc. Severe fatigue and tiredness. I just wanted to know has anyone had the same happen to them.

Hi all hope you are well. I seen my gastro last week and have just had my results back. 6 months ago he said that my ATL was showing mild abnormalities. He tested me again and it is now 65 a/l. He said when I was last tested he was slightly concerner about PBC and AIH overlap because of my elevated ALT's

Hi, I'm new here and wanted some info on AIH (autoimmune hepatitis) and PSC (primary sclerosing cholangitis) overlap.
Basically I have been suffering with liver problems from the age of 14 and have never really got to grips with my illness because I have soo much going on. I have heard that PSC is more common is males than females and I am just looking for someone who can help me work out my illness. Thank you in advance

So what about seronegative APS?
Hi. Reading the forum I'm not sure, yet, what to think about the so called seronegative APS. I'm seroenegative but I have symptoms. I'm on warfarin for life. I'm not going to give up warfarin never. I have doubts. Do we have to be cautious with infections?. Are infections the trigger for this disease

Does anyone have autoimmune hepatitis as well as lupus?
I have recently been diagnosed with lupus and already have autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and wonder if there are others of you who have both disorders? It might be useful to exchange experiences as I find it hard to unravel which symptoms are from what, or even whether some symptoms are side effects of

Winter Care For Wrinkles On Face
While winter is definitely the season to enjoy friends, family, holidays and good cheer, one of the unfortunate aspects of colder weather is dry winter skin. The combination of cold weather and indoor heat can lead to additional dryness, and in turn, the dryness can increase the chances of wrinkles and

Soybean oil should we avoid it?
I've recently bought on line some vitamin e tablets. I didn't check before I bought them and unfortunately they contain soybean oil. I went on the internet and found some research that suggests soybean oil is usually safer than soybeans themselves as the oil doesn't contain the substance that causes

Are my swollen, red, puffy eyes a symptom of autoimmune hepatitis?
Hi all. I was seen by a gastroenterologist in July following a 'hepatic episode' of deranged LFT's, mild jaundice and a significantly positive ANA. This episode had settled by the time i was seen but the consultant said she was almost certain that this was an indicator of autoimmune hepatitis. She did

Hi I've just joined this group because I have just been diagnosed with Hepatitis antibodies in my blood and I am scared.
I had an operation in 1986 and it has come to light now that the medic who operated on me had Hepatitis C. Over 5,000 women who were in contact with this person has been contacted by the NHS to be tested, me being one of them. I tested positive for Hepatitis antibodies. I've had further blood taken and
