Hepatitis B vaccine before Ocrevus?

Anyone have to get a Hepatitis B vaccine prior to starting Ocrevus? I was asked to get the vaccine (which is actually a total of three doses; get the first two doses now) before starting O.

Ethyrum, it's Fancy1959. This October will be my 1 year anniversary of being on ocrevus. They did not require that I get the hepatitis B vaccine before starting the DMT. However that was unnecessary since I was already vaccinated against hepatitis A B and C because I was a employee of a school district. Getting the vaccine in advance merely gives you protection against the hepatitis outbreak that is going on today. I hope you understand that when were on a DMT such as ocrevus our immune system is chronically lower than the average person. So getting the vaccine in advance is merely the protective step to prevent you from getting hepatitis. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. Fancy.

I believe that is correct! I had the series as a requirement for my job and my titer came back low, but no one has mentioned getting a booster yet.

The question you need to ask is the Heb a live vaccine all I know that you cannot take any live vaccines with it. I would talk with your doctor again + the Ocrevus company + your pharmacist I would look into that before taking the Ocrevus again.

The hep b vaccine is not a live vaccine.

I did not have to get the vaccine, but they did test my blood for hep b. I already had my shingles shot and pnenomia shot, but dr. said you have to have them first.they checked my blood to see if they were still active,he said sometimes that delays the treatment,since it has to be in your system awhile. might want to talk to dr about it pam
