Hepatitis B is a virus and doctors can test for it very simply via a blood test which should reveal whether the virus is present or not. You need to ask for this blood test.

What makes you concerned about Hep B in particular? There are other viral types of hepatitis (hepatitis just means liver inflammation) - Hep A, C, D & E plus you can have liver inflammation caused by alcohol, fatty liver and auto-immune conditions. Liver inflammation probably wouldn't be picked up in a scan but should be identified in liver function blood tests.

Hi uzyy

In order to test for Hepatitis B you will need a blood test. This can be obtained very easily at your doctors.

Here is the link to our Hepatitis B publication which should be helpful to read
