Hepatitis C from transfusion
Hi all I’m new here. Trying, in vain, to gain more information to put together an appeal to the support system for those diagnosed with Hep C after a contaminated blood transfusion before 1991. There seems to be no medical records of my mums transfusion, which is convenient!!, I’ve also been told because

Flu shots
Hello! I work in a pediatric emergency department and am finishing my nursing degree. I am required to get the flu shot for both my job and my clinical rotations. I tolerated the flu shot last year, however this past year my symptoms greatly escalated before diagnosis. How have you reacted to the flu

Latest blood tests - help with results please
Hi, I've been feeling very unwell recently with bad fatigue, headaches, swollen and sore feet. I've had thrush 3 times in the last month too. I've been on NDT (Erfa) for 8 weeks now (starting on 30mg and increased recently to 45mg) along with 25mg Levothyroxine. Before this, I was on 50mg Levothyroxine

Flu shot recommended for elders with CKD 3?
At 76 yrs and with Stage 3 CKD I am unsure whether or not the flue shot is recommended. Do others know or have suggestions? Maybe talk with the pharmacist who makes them available? Thank you.

Flu shots
I haven’t had a flu shot for many years nor have l had the flu for many years. However, my husband keeps bugging me that l should get one. I have read so many negative things about them? Should l? Shouldn’t l? I have been feeling kind of not perfect ... sort of like l am coming down with a sniffle

Pneumonia Jab...is it safe for us?
Just been for my 2nd ever flu jab and was offered Pneumonia jab as well. Told the nurse I had ET and she advised I ask my consultant first. Are we allowed this? On another note, I was at a Halloween drag show in support of the LGBT community last night and was pulled up on stage to perform a 'dance

Flu Jab isn't as effective in Cirrhotics
Had my flu jab today and according to my doctor it is not as effective in people with cirrhosis but still a good measure to take to reduce the effects of influenza. Apparently the uptake by our immune system is compromised but he emphasized that it is still important for us to get the jab. Wishing you

Flu vaccine cuts infection severity and mortality according to US Centers of Disease studies. That's why it is recommended if you have CLL.
Given reports of people getting the flu after their flu vaccinations (there's no live virus, so getting the flu from the vaccination is impossible), or claiming that the flu vaccination provides little to no benefit, it is good to see the reduction in illness and mortality following vaccination being

Quick update - reaction to flu jab
The swelling is now going down and much less painful so I don’t need to see GP but I have emailed reporting my reaction. Thanks to everyone who responded.

Hair falling out!!
Hello all I’m distraught as my mane is coming out it clumps. I noticed a patch at the crown that I thought was caused by blow drying my hair upside down. I wear it curly so don’t use heat damage and only bleach the roots so it’s in good condition (I used to do highlights which are way more damaging)

Reaction to flu jab
I had my flu jab on Saturday and was told I may have a slightly sore arm. I have an area roughly the size of grapefruit which is red, inflamed, swollen and with a rash and the area is increasing rather than decreasing. It is incredibly painful and I can’t lie on my left side. Saturday/Sunday I had
