In this video it highlights the process and updates of implantable bioartificial kidney by The Kidney Project

Summary

-They managed to test a miniature device and have tested it on animals producing urine to show that it works and is safe.

-They still require to produce a proper device and test that on animals before beginning human trials

-They are severely short of funds and require ten million to begin human trials

-Human trials might take at least 3 years and the other 2 years for additional fixing and marketing

-If they acquire the funds in one-shot they might be able to introduce the bioartificial kidney into the market in five years however, because of the slow source of funds it might take ten years before it is introduced into the market

I hope that someone here has the power or have connections with individuals who can help fund and speed up this project

P.S. David Bennett the first heart xenotransplant recipient has survived for 45 days and counting, I hope this will also open the gateway for pigs kidney transplant
