In the Rush to Return to ‘Normal,’ What Happens to the Vulnerable? By Sarah Wildman in NYT 04/10/22

MIN-102 update: summer 2022
Hi everyone, I am persisting with the min-102 trial and yesterday had my 10th visit. Nothing particularly different about the visit: the usual 6 minute walking and balance trials, the annual MRI scan and echocardiogram and the questionnaires and meeting with a specialist. What I did learn is that Minoryx

Beast is Back
Three weeks after my fourth ablation, and advised to drop flecainide, the beast returned. (Kept on metoprolol & Xarelto). Started after an afternoon nap for no reason at all. Confirmed by nurse with ecg yesterday and put back on flecainide until appointment on Monday with ep and another ecg. I’m hoping

First appointment with arrhythmia service.
Hello. I’m 7 wks into my AF journey, having had an episode early March and new to the forum. I’m trying to learn as much as I can. When experiencing my episode where I was tachycardic and diagnosed from ECG with AF , I was discharged on the same day with bisuprolol 2.5 and rivoroxaban 20 mgs daily.

Minimally invasive Surgical Ablation carried out in UK, preparing for surgery
Surgical ablation is not used much here in the UK unless open heart surgery is being carried out anyway. In other countries - the Netherlands, US and Japan it is a first line treatment for persistent afib (and actually some paroxysmal too) and carried out by keyhole/minimally invasively. I am 5 plus

Hi all, please can some of you list the life style changes that can be recommended to some one newly diagnosed with Afibb?
I have a friend who is awaiting diagnosis of Afibb, also has huge burden of ectopic beats and tachycardia when in sinus mode. I have seen on here listed sometimes, the life style recommendations that can be made whilst awaiting cardiology appointment but have been unable to find them. Also can not remember

Could anyone share with me their experience of the process, experience and effectiveness of the Implanted Loop Recorder?
Hi Friends, I am having a loop recorder implanted on Friday at Barts. I was feeling quite positive about the idea but as the day gets nearer find myself getting myself getting nervous about it. My main anxiety is that in some way way in will cause to me have another A-fib episode, which I haven

Heart Failure Question
Hello I am looking for some perspective I think. My husband was not treated for his AF and high heart rate for four weeks until I managed to get him to ignore the GP and go to A& E, He was diagnosed with heart failure (35%) and is now on 8 different drugs. He had a follow up procedure booked (cardioversion

Underlying heart condition (coarctation of aorta) with AF
Hi I wonder if there is a link here? I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation/Atrial Flutter (don't think they know) about 2 years ago. I also have an underlying heart condition where the aorta was narrowed (coarctation), and corrected via open heart surgery when I was 11 (I'm now 63). However heart

Supporting parents
Hi all, I'm new here and am seeking support on how to be of help to my parents in IL while I'm in IA, as my Dad (who is a kidney transplant recipient) skin cancer gets progressively worse, and my mom (who was Dad's donor) is in denial that she is depressed and is in need of help. In 2003 Mom donated

Post ablation arrhythmia
I am almost 4 months post ablation for atrial fibrillation. Whilst jogging after my daughter, who was on her scooter, I had an odd heart episode. It may have been AF, but it felt like it could also have been ectopics combined with sinus rhythm - my heart was already beating quite fast, which made it
