confusion
His post was about his “ open
heart
surgery
“ in Papworth , due in June. The reples show me how technically “ uninformed” I am . May be that is a good thing for me. But , I have to confess to being slightly jealous of other people’s care.

I am due surgery on 7th September. I will need one valve replacing and one valve replaced or repaired. I also have AF. Has anyone had similar that can help me with my anxiety over having all this done.

Scared. Mind is racing. Mom needs heart surgery.
My mom needs
heart
surgery
. She is my best friend. She is 82. I am 47. I don't have a partner or kids. I have a brother. He helps sometimes but he isn't completely emotionally supportive. For the surgery we need to travel. Right there I'm out of my comfort zone.

My T story
Hi, I had Open
Heart
Surgery
for Mitral Valve prolapse in June 2022, Occular migraines started straight away, followed by 24/7 tinnitus which started in March of 2023, I am convinced there is a connection to the surgery, but who knows!

Ross vs Mechincal valve
My son is going to be 21 in January and is on the list for his 4th open
heart
surgery
. His last one was in 2013 where they performed the BROM. He has to decide between Ross or Mechincal.

chest pain with reflux
i have had mri , Ct, angiogram and had open
heart
surgery
to repair an aortic aneurysm in April last year. does anyone get chest pain like this as websites say chest pain is a symptom and mention squeezing that I guess could be classed as waves of pain ? Thoughts and experiences welcome!

Learn CPR and Defibrillator training
Straight away I noticed a big scar down his chest, so that I knew that he had previously had
heart
surgery
. I applied the defibrillator pads, which verbally told us to give a shock, which was applied. There were still no signs of life and the Defibrillator told me to carry on with CPR, which I did.

Leaking heart valve
I've been diagnosed with a leaking heart valve which is now severe.I'm currently awaiting to go into hospital for a new
heart
valve via open
heart
surgery
. To say I am scared is an understatement. I'm not really sure what to expect.

fibroelastoma near aortic valve discovered on checkup when symptomless
It showed a fibroelastoma 7mm x7mm next to the aortic valve, and I have been told I need open
heart
surgery
to remove it and likely replacement of the valve. I have numerous complicating issues related to bleeding and healing, and am looking to get a second opinion on a less invasive approach.

vasospastic coronary arteries
I have had ( I think) nearly every other test which in order are exercise stress test, numberous echos, CT , MRI stress, angiogram, CT then open
heart
surgery
for aneurysm. Interestingly the only lengthy period of relief ( nearly two months exactly) was after the OHS ( for the aneurysm).

I am a very determined woman who just sees this congenital heart disease as part of my life and I have always looked well and got on with it all, hence why I was discharged within days from open

surgery
and travelled three hours home.
