Hi

As I'm new here and new to the pregnancy thing and chronik pain I thouth I'll ask you guys, maybe someone was where I am right now.

I live with pain all my life in one form or another. to be honest i don't remember day withiout pain anymore. It's over 30 years now.

I'm 19 weeks pregnant at the moment and due to this had to stop all my Fibro tretments to not to harm my baby. the treatment I had in place was helping me to the poin that I could have a normal life and do anythink I wanted. at the moment most of the days I can't even get up from my bed as pain is that storng.

Normal painkiller don't work on me, and I can't take my normal, strong ones as my baby will be addicted.

I'm looking for alternatives to painkiller that will help me survive till end of my prengancy.

I also studie full time at Uni and most of the days have no energy to get to my books. I'm afraid I'll fail my year.

My mother will have an open heart surgery in 3 weeks so I need energy to take care of her on top off everything.

Please help. I'll consider all the alternatives.

Dear momwithfibro

I am a forum moderator at Pain Concern and have just been reading through your post.

As you are pregnant as well as having fibro it may be difficult for other forum users to offer you help. I wonder whether you would get more responses from the Fibro forum on Healthunlocked. I have put the link below for you to follow, as well as a link to Fibromyalgia UK website.

I hope you get some help from these forums

Best wishes

Hi there, sorry to hear you're in so much pain and can't take string painkillers. I do have fibro and ME/CFS... I had to leave my full time studies and just wasn't able anymore. I kept pushing through and burnt out. I've no advice unfortunately about painkillers, however I'd strongly suggest taking a break from your studies called an interruption. These can be granted on medical grounds. Stress will only make the pain worse. I got myself a VR headset with the app Tripp, which is amazing fir mindfulness... Jack Cornfield had some amazing self compassion mindfulness meditations on YouTube. Hopefully that will help a bit. Best of luck with your pregnancy. I've heard that sometimes the hormones can lessen the pain. I'm in HRT now a d finding that it helps to an extent. oh, a good massage gun definitely helps me with pain too. I got the Renpho one on Amazon, it's very good. Hope your mother's operation and recovery go smoothly.x

hi congratulations on the pregnancy, I had spondiolsthessis and I get you. Every day if my pregnancy was difficult then the other. But looks like you are already half way through. So I’m gonna give you my advice on how to manage pain.

1. Use hot water to bathe and even a hot water bag mildly hot.

2. I ordered Epsom salt soaked in my bucket two heaps and the bathed with it. I would the. Follow up with some pain relieving massage oils would help me manage to some but.

3. Have prebiotic and probiotics.

4. I took Mag phos from a homeopath brand. I think it helped. 3 tabs thrice a day. Safe for baby.

a

5 avoid dairy and gluten i couldn’t but if you can do, do it.

6, also in my last 4-5 week form 32 say I had half Crocin 650 every alternate day with mag phos during sleeping so that way I slept a bit better. I know not the best but I needed to hold that baby and my body was not able to move. At all. I couldn’t even walk. So I wanted to count my days and this helped.

7. Praying and deep breathing before sleep

None of this is full proof and you will be in more pain than any one else but these are pain management methods and there might be some hope for you. I wish you so much love honey. You are doing the hardest things in the world, an even harder way
