Mechanical Valve - Ticking Noise
I'm new here and I have been recommended to have open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve with a mechanical valve. One of my concerns is the "ticking" or "thumping" noise. I was wondering if anyone has had the mechanical valve replacement surgery and have they experienced the noise? If so, how

Another 'good' Meal with Michael, my neighbour
Dear all, yesterday I went to the Butchers, near my Mother's Flat, and bought some 'Lemon/ Lime Chicken Quarters'. This afternoon I cooked them for myself, and my neighbour Michael, VERY good too! I put the oven onto a 'Moderate' Heat, about 150- 170 (3 to 3.5 gas), and left it to warm. I have a deep

Devilled topping for baked fish.
You will need to increase or decrease quantities depending how many people you are feeding. Serves 2. 3 - 4 tablespoons fresh breadcrumbs. 1/2 small'ish onion, finely chopped. A knob of butter, softened. 1 teaspoon curry paste. Scant teaspoon wholegrain mustard. A dash of Worcestershire sauce.

Lemon vinaigrette dressing.
Years ago, I got a recipe from the back of a packet of Tesco baby vegetables for lemon vinaigrette dressing. The original recipe had too much oil for my tastes so I did some tweaking and came up with a lighter, fresher tasting version. I will give both versions though. Original version : Finely grated

Hi Everyone It's my first go at hosting today and I wanted to share something I've come to understand more and more over the years, and it's taken a long time let me tell you! LOVE YOURSELF! Whatever you do, wherever you go, do it with love for yourself. If you're having a bad day, week, month - do something

Counting down the days till the op.
Hello, Any advise would be welcome. As a couple we are now waiting for my husband to have double heart bypass surgery on 10th June. Every morning waking up to the reality is hard. The physical tips I’m reading is helpful but how do you recognise the emotional side is getting to much and seek help.

To ablate or not to ablate...etc
I finally received a telephone consultation, 6 months after my A&E admission for a fast AF. The A&E discharge report said "AF disorder SUSPECTED", and recommended a 24-hour ECG. The latest AF is only my second event in 5 years. I had an AF a year after my heart attack (stent inserted); the consultant

Hey everyone. I hope you're all looking after yourselves. I haven't posted here for a while - evidence that my post-AVR life is going well I'm pleased to say. This is just a short post to say I've been asked by Guy's and St Thomas's (the hospital where I had my AVR in 2018) to take part in a virtual

Sauna/ Steam room/ after bypass.
Hi everyone, hope everything is going ok. Just wondered if anyone who has had a triple heart bypass has been told not to use any of these? Also thinking are you aloud to use a hot tub? Just thinking, as I would like to possibly join a health club. Thanks.

Apixaban side effects.
I have a new cardiologists. Hurray! He has taken me off xerolto, because of many violent nosebleeds. He says apixaban hopefully will reduce or eliminate these bleeds. My question is has anyone had any disturbing side effects from apixaban? I am starting on it today. Other than nosebleeds life is grand

Left Sided Scrotal Pain Help
I've had left sided scrotal pain fie years. I've gone to a couple Urologist's that give me Celebrex and antibiotics. It resolves the issue until the antibiotics are gone. Then the pain returns. After a ultrasound of my scrotum that found an inguinal hernia and varicocele on my left aide. I had the hernia

Gluten-free and Vegan Berries yogurt cake.😋❤️🌺
Hello everyone. Hope you have a peaceful Sunday so far and a great start of the week ahead! 🤗 Today I visited my parents and had wonderful lunch with them so I didn’t cook any food today. Instead, I made dessert for this evening.😋 I made two flavors of yogurt cakes: one is blueberries and the other
