Sleep and heart health.
Does anybody know if there is a possible link between poor sleep/insomnia and
heart
health
? The reason is I have always been poor sleeper due mainly to work shift patterns. I also have a slightly obstructive airway by way of a long suffered deviated septum.

Weight Loss - Low calorie snacks
Completed week 5 of NHS weight loss programme and lost 2.3 kilos. I am restricted in amount of fibre and fruit I can eat (by Consultant's instructions) and so sometimes go over calories. I am lactose intolerant and eat gluten free bread as it is better for me. Any suggestions for low calorie snacks

Those little side effects after heart surgery..... :)
Hello, it's been a while since I last posted. I'm recovering well from my mitral valve repair, getting on my wattbike and rower (under the supervision of my lovely NHS Physio). I have two questions: 1. 'burping' - yes I know. I'd never had an issue with this before the above and I have to say it's

Chopped Spinach, Swiss and Mild Cheddar Cheese, Rice Crust: Dinner
This is what I had for dinner tonight. The crust for the quiche was made with brown rice, lemon juice, two types of cheeses, liquid egg whites and chopped spinach. For dessert, we had chocolate ice cream. The entire meal was 48 carbs. with the ice cream. I will have the leftovers for lunch on Monday

Just discovered that I have RLS - any advice?
I have had horrible feelings of restlessness and the need to keep moving my legs in the evening for about a year. It went away briefly while I was in hospital for a month following open heart surgery but returned quite soon after going home. I have also had a ‘habit’ of moving my feetand wriggling my

Metoprolol and hair loss.
This may not be relevant to anyone reading this but I had an experience about 3 mo. ago concerning metoprolol. I had taken for my heart for over 2 years. I began losing my hair at an alarming rate. My cardiologist said to stop the metoprolol and begin Cardizem CD. The hair loss has moderated but

Homemade Strawberry 🍓 Jam without pectin. 😋❤️🌺
Hello everyone, hope you have a wonderful day ahead! 🤗 Like many of us, I love fruity jam but I don’t like the amount of sugar they put in from supermarkets. I make my own jam for my oatmeal and toast from time to time. What I like about homemade jam is I can use half the amount of sugar, add my organic

Woo hoo heart surgery 🫀
Asking for anyone’s experience of surgical ablation as opposed to catheter ablation? Was told yesterday by cardiologist that my case has been reviewed by local teaching hospital with the EP team & they hope to do a surgical ablation (if I want it). Now some people would not opt for surgical treatment

Stuffed Cabbage, Blueberries and Lemon Jello: Dinner
Hi everyone. This was what my Niece had helped with yesterday after lunch for today. We did Lemon Jello as a snack/dessert. We had some this morning. My parents and I had some for dessert (left the rest for Monday when she comes back next week) tonight. The Lemon Jello has sugar, gelatin and lemon
