When is 5.6 not 5.6
For as long as I can remember my FT3 has been 5.6 with a consistent dose of 2 grains of Thyroid S and a consistent range of (3.4 - 6.8). 18 months ago I moved to another part of the country where the FT3 range is (2.5 - 5.5). Technically my FT3 is now over range although no one seems to be too worried

Salazopyrin
Hi advice on Salazopyrin I've been taking Salazopyrin for some months with regular blood tests. Inflammatory arthritis and colitis. All was going well until I received a phone call to say stop taking them because my last blood test showed a problem with red blood count. I've googled excessively until

Good morning.I've found this forum out of desperation having experienced what I now know are symptoms of B12 deficiency for a few years. pre diabetes
Had an NStemi and stent fitted in Oct last year. Obviously a shock and have been following all advice, did cardiac rehab and going on daily walks and gym twice a week. I asked GP surgery for cholesterol blood test to see if it had gone down further and particularly if bad cholesterol had gone down. However

Phone-call from receptionist today
Only just joined and not sure where to begin as I feel as if I’m in shock a little and desperately trying to find out information. I had a phone call from the drs receptionist this afternoon to tell me I have hypothyroidism after some blood tests and needed to pick up a prescription which I would need

white capsules vs pink/green capsules Hydroxycarbamide
Hi all Have any of you had the plain white capsules of Hydroxycarbamide instead of the Pink/Green capsules ? I’ve been taking the pink/green capsules made by Bristol Myers Squibb for several years with increased doses from time to time. Earlier this year my dose was increased to 3x500mg Friday Saturday

Rheumatology
Having read several times on here, it would seem that most people have had regular blood tests and rheumatology appointment. I have been on high dose steroids for PMR, for around 2 years. I am gradually cutting this right down to 3mg. I have never seen a rheumatologist, my doctor doesn't think it is

Hello everyone, Having finally dropped from 5mg to 4.5mg I am now in my fourth week. I have no shoulder or arm pain and was beginning to feel like I’ve finally cracked the 5mg barrier(third time lucky). I’ve had PMR for 2years and 9 months. However, my legs feel in constant pain and I don’t feel

Heart Attack at 38
Hi, I first posted on the thyroid board but was sent here to check with the knowledgeable people here. At the end of January I had a heart attack. The doctors said it was due to taking T3 for my thyroid but I’ve read a lot of conflicting information as to whether T3 would cause this or not and the

Ferritin Levels
Hello, Recent blood test shows Ferritin at 118 (30 - 650 ug/L). I'm struggling to understand if that's ok as the range appears to have changed. When it was tested in September 2023 it was 112 but the range was 15-200ug/L. Is the range change significant? My brain says it makes my level lower as

I have been on thyroxine since 2017 to treat my underactive thyroid (confirmed Hashimotos). My bloods from this week are in the attached screenshot. I haven't felt like me for many years. I wondered what peples thoughts were on my results?

Hoping there's no need to worry.
I haven't seen my haematologist since before Covid struck the world. I've had phone appointments every 3 - 4 months and now my appointment has been brought forward and is face to face. Thursday. My partner is coming with me because I have to drive him to his appointment afterwards. Should I take

Leg swelling - hyperthyroid
Hi, I was diagnosed with Graves two months ago, put on 20mg Carbimazole, 120mg Diltiazem daily. My last blood test on Dec 7 showed my thyroid numbers are in the normal range for the most part and so my Carbimazole dose was reduced to 5mg once per day; I was taken off the calcium channel blocker. I
